Computer ownership

How many computers have you owned?

Not counting my business purchases of computers but just my personal purchases of computers.

I can count a total of 8 computers ( 2 where Apples)
Presently we have one tower unit and two wireless laptops

1 desktop (used, main PC)
1 laptop (used, main laptop)
1 netbook, rarely used, got it for $100
2 desktops, unused, older hand me downs before buying the nice PC above
1 desktop, used, has thousands of arcade games on it, plan to install in my empty arcade cabinet someday.

I have had one desktop that I bought in 1996 and then continuously upgraded until i bought a laptop about a year ago.

1 NEC desktop we got when I was in 5th grade
1 Pionex desktop we got when I was probably a freshman (took to college 4 years later)
1 Sony Vaio desktop we got when I was a senior
1 HP laptop bought before sophomore year of college
1 HP laptop bought after graduating college
1 Macbook Pro bought in October '08 (first unibody version, sold to my mom a couple weeks ago since I got a brand new Macbook Pro for work and don't need two)
1 custom build tower running Windows 7 that I build about 6 months ago.

That makes 7.

I learned to use the computer on my grandparents Tandy growing up. DOS = GOAT.

First PC I built was a 386dx40, 125mb harddrive, 5 1/4 floppy running state of the art DOS 5.0 and Windows 3.0.(about 20 years ago) Now I have an IBM/Lenovo dual core laptop. In between there have been 6 desktop/towers and 4 laptops.

One; an HP I bought before my freshmen year of college in the summer of 2008. I love it. I'll probably buy another one for grad/law school, one with like 8+ GB of RAMM and 500 GB of space. I use two external hard drives for my itunes and torrents programs and to store my music/movies, so the space isn't a big deal.

5 desktops (my first was an 80286 with 640K RAM . . . back in the day with DOS and QBASIC).

1 laptop (Dell D610 Latitude--on its last legs at this point).

Soon to buy another laptop.

1 Pentium I Intel Quantex 16 meg of ram
1 Pentium II Intel Compaq 32 meg of ram
1 Pentium III Dell with 64 meg of ram
1 Pentium IV HP/Compaq with 1 gig of ram
1 Xenon Dell with 2 gig of ram

Still own the last 2. So.....7.

Had an HP from 04-05, replaced it with the same thing that lasted until june of 06, and have had the same macbook from July of 06.

Just one. I've had the same one since I was 12. Going on 17 years now. Of course it was a Mac.


In actuality, I've had 5 Desktop PC's.
