Haha trust me, as bad as the Reds were in the 2000 decade, I felt like they would never be good again. I too spent the good portion of my time focusing on the minor league affiliates because the big league team in cincinnati was fucking garbage.
I can say this though, the Pirates have a good bundle of young talent in place..they just need a few add in players (the scott rolen's, johnny be good gomes, etc. type players) to add some depth. As for pitching, I'm sure they've gathered enough pitching prospects over the years that they should be in the Reds' position in 2 or 3 years.
My good friend here at OU is a huge pittsburgh sports fan, and I respect him the most because even though he is an in your face kinda fan, he is the biggest Pirates fan of any of pittsburgh's teams, so I let him slide.
