I was in the car picking up a last minute item before the SB and heard this on the radio. Christina blended two different stanzas of the song.

The other thing that cracked me up was the length of her rendition. Over the week I heard someone on the radio mention odd bets from Vegas. One of the more humorous bets was an over/under on Christina's anthemn. I believe the over was 1:45. Everyone on the radio agreed they'd take that bet in a heartbeat. I think the time was a little over two minutes.

Official over under was 1:54 and the only unofficial time I saw was 1:53.

You had the actual time at 1:53 or the over/under was 1:53?

I couldn't believe what I was hearing.... how is it possible to mess up the national anthem at the biggest game of the year?

I timed it at 1:53, from first sound to the end of "brave"

It's 1:53 if you go to the end of "brave." But then she threw in an extra "ooooo" at the end that I think should count and it takes the time up to 1:54.

Didn't know there was an "oooo" at the end of the National Anthem.... We will have to see what Vegas does. I would think officially the end would be the end of the last word.

Obviously I know that there is nothing written after brave. But I would think the end would be when she stops singing. And if she's throwing extra syllables after the last word, that's part of her rendition and therefore part of the total time that she took to sing the song.

In any case, had she sang the "o'er the ramparts we watched," she would be well over 1:53.

Interesting...

Anthem controversy continues. Most had over/under at 1:54. Bodog clocked it at 1:53.7 (under) Bookmaker.com? 1:54.02 (over)

There is no way anyone running a sports betting company can not call it a wash when she left out a good portion of the song!

She left out the line, "O'er the ramparts we watched"...and then combined two different stanzas in an attempt to cover it up.

does this screw up over/under bets on how long she'd sing?

I had 20 on Bookmaker.com on over 1:56 and lost the wager. Their official time was 1:54.3 or something. Apparently the line moved because I heard some people got it at 1:54.

I can't stand these idiots trying to make the damn National Anthem "theirs" by using a bunch of inflection and other unneeded bullshit.

It's "our" song, sing the fucker like it's supposed to be done. She's too worried about putting "her" label on the damn thing she eff'd it all to hell and is now a national embarrassment. I like her voice and she had the potential to knock it out of the park...fucking fail.

That's harsh...The way it started out I thought for sure she was going over.
