Yeah, for such a beautiful voice and a talent, it was the worst rendition of the National Anthem I've ever heard. Why mess with it so much?

It's "our" song, sing the fucker like it's supposed to be done. She's too worried about putting "her" label on the damn thing she eff'd it all to hell and is now a national embarrassment. I like her voice and she had the potential to knock it out of the park...fucking fail.

+10000 It's a total embarrassment and she should be ashamed.

Every time I hear the National Anthem at sporting events I get chills. And most times I hear it on a daily basis at work.

I thought I heard her botch them, but it was really bad sound where I was watching the game.

agree with others ....just sing the song. Josh Groban sings a great Anthem. Seen/heard him sing twice....once was the Packers/Lions Thanksgiving Day game following 9/11, another was to open the World Series in Chcago.

It's very inspiring and emotional to hear a great Anthem sung. It just sucks when somebody really screws it up.

"I got so lost in the moment of the song that I lost my place," the
singer said. "I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through."
I didn't hear her sing the anthem, but she's not the first or the last to screw it up.

Likewise, I didn't hear her sing it...but I know for a fact she isn't the first to mess it up. To be fair, being under that kind of pressure would push a decent amount of people into errors

She did a great job during the NBA Finals this past year. I was surprised to hear her screw up that bad.

But like everyone else says, she isn't the first and sure as hell isn't going to be the last.

Maybe a high School kid or a newcomer to the industry but someone who has been singing for quite a while and performed many concerts, I don't think so.

A completely pathetic rendition, on top of screwing it up; unforgivable.

When did the 'Honor America' part go by the wayside?

Like to see Leo Welch (CBJ) singer or the dude who sings from the NYFD at Yankee games.

Leo's great. He would be similar to the guy from the Bears game with his style of singing.
