Well the 2011 Pro Football Hall of Fame class was announced, and once again Cris Carter was not included despite easily having the numbers and the overall game. Question is when do you think Carter will make it, and do you think the HOF should be decided by HOF members/ex players instead of retarded sports writers?

Carter should have got in ahead of Shannon Sharpe, hell there's several finalists this year who should have got in over Sharpe.

Bettis will get in and he deserves it.

There were a lot of great players fighting for a few spots.

Even a guy like Willie Roaf. 11 pro bowls, six times first team All Pro. He was a great player that just happened to be on teams that weren't anything special. Saints and Chiefs.

Deion Sanders might be the most overrated football player ever. He coattailed the great 49er team and Cowboy team to his 2 Super bowl wins.

Can't disagree more. Insane athlete with once in a generation speed. Could play offense. All time great returner. 49ers couldn't beat the Cowboys and get to the super bowl til Deion got there, then goes to the Cowboys the next year and they win the SB too. In no way is he overrated

Maybe Carter was unkind to reporters during his drug problem days with Philly... Maybe they are making him pay for not talking to reporters, or something silly like that???

Sports Writers should have no impact on who should get into ANY Pro sports HOF....Let the voting come down to Hall of famers themselves.

also agree that HOF members should vote and sports writers shouldnt. Also think that Ray Guy, punter, Oakland Raiders not even being a finalist is a sham. know he was " only" a punter ,but what a punter. I am sure there are a number of players who should be in but are not and some that are that shouldnt be

This. Bettis is 5th on the all-time rushing list. He most definitely deserves to be in and will get in.

Lots of discussion this week about whether Ed Sabol should get in over a player this year. I agree with the stance that he should be in but not taking away an opportunity for a player to get in on this ballot. Vote those guys in but not head to head against players.

I noticed that Art Modell (not the OC one) didn't make it this time either. It will be interesting to see if he's kept out for what he did to Cleveland.

How about "Dirt" Dawson? He revolutionized his position by being the first "pulling" center in the history of the league.

The Committee consists of one media representative from each pro football city with two from New York, inasmuch as that city has two teams in the National Football League. A 33rd member is a representative of the Pro Football Writers of America and there are 11 at-large delegates.
With the exception of the PFWA representative who is appointed for a two-year term, all appointments are of the open-end variety and can be terminated only by retirement or resignation, as long as the member continues to attend meetings regularly.
