First of all, it's a joke that the NFIB and Chamber weren't invited to this--yet he says that small business is well represented.

But did I honestly hear him correctly when he basically blamed unemployment on small business because "they've learned to be more productive with fewer employees, which is good for profits but not good for hiring." That they should be more worried about hiring people than their profits...

Clearly as the head of what is basically the only "business" that doesn't have to turn a profit to stay afloat, he clearly doesn't understand how important your profits are. But I honestly can't believe I heard that today. I'm baffled. This guy is dumber than I ever could have thought. Want them to hire more people--maybe you ought to cut their taxes so they can make a profit AND hire new employees...hmm, maybe that makes too much sense to him. But does he not realize that in saying that, if everyone were to go along with it, not only would it kill the economy and MANY businesses in the long run--but if they're not making money then the government is going to lose A LOT of tax revenue. What a MORON!

Why don't you just put the "Change we can believe in" in your signature?

Would save you a little bit of typing on every single post you make.

Having to type it is a constant reminder of how damaging his/their change is, and that they must be soundly defeated in their next election bids. Thanks anyhow.

SQ Crazies --- he is not stupid; he purposefully has surrounded himself with socialists and Marxists who have no concept of what it takes to run a business; their cause is to dismantle capitalism and free markets............ they are well on their way.

I read the article twice...and I don't see any quotes along these lines attributed to anyone.

Howard Dean seems to think capitalism is dead...so I'd say he thinks otherwise.

Foot this link is especially for you. If you want to hear it in Obama's words instead of reading the transcript you can join Rush 24/7.

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_120309/content/01125111.guest.html

Below is the full transcript from the White House reguarding what crazies heard on the radio.

I think this is the part in question from the presidents introductary words.
But despite the progress we've made, many businesses are still skittish about hiring. Some are still digging themselves out of the losses they incurred over the past year. Many have figured out how to squeeze more productivity out of fewer workers, and that cost-cutting has become embedded in their operations and in their culture. That may result in good profits, but it's not translating into hiring. And so that's the question that we have to ask ourselves today: How do we get businesses to start hiring again? How do we get ourselves to the point where more people are working, and more people are spending, and you start seeing a virtuous cycle and the recovery starts to feed on itself?

Yeah, wouldn't want him to explore a different source of media--someone who is actually smart and not tied down by people more powerful than he is, someone who is strong in his beliefs and MAKES SENSE and slams BOTH sides when need be. Wouldn't hate to see someone explore that source because CNN tells you not to! Why do you think they tell you not to? Why do you think they label him as a nut job? Same reason they label Ron Paul a nut job and the same reason they embraced John McCain for the most part--if its someone they're scared of because they're smart and they make sense, they label them nuts and people buy it.

When you hear Obama say what he said today, you just cringe at the fact this country elected a total neophyte as leader of the free world. He doesn't have a clue of what to do in order to create jobs. 38% of the stimulus has been spent, and what do we have???? No jobs created.

Businesses hire people when they expand. Cost cutting is keeping these businesses afloat, but they have no reason to think they will be expanding anytime soon, especially with trillions of dollars of new entitlements on the horizon, which means their taxes will be going up and their expenses (energy, commodities, and imports) will be going up as the dollar plummets. If they get cap-and-tax through there, energy prices will skyrocket. No amount of cost cutting will save them then, and exactly no one will be hiring except the U.S. government.

Cap and tax is done at this point IMO--thank God. But you're right, there is no incentive for a business to attempt to expand right now. Cut their taxes and maybe there will be, but right now there are VERY few business owners in a position to expand. But hey, maybe they should then they'd all be too big to fail right?

Cap N' Trade is dead in the water.

Like many things, it will make it through the house but never see the light of day in the Senate.

I think they could. But I'm more optimistic than that--at least I'm trying to force optimism. But I really think Climategate is going to kill it. I'm not sure it's legs were ever long enough to get it run though anyways.

I would happily debate the fat fuck on the AM dial regarding economics. Since I have a degree in business and minor in economics. I would crush the college drop out....with my left nut tied behind my back. And I don't need God's talent lent to me either to do so.

A typical phooie quote from the pseudo conservative MuhahahahRushie..

"the national debt is no big deal".
