2:30 to 2:40 is the greatest 10 seconds in live performance:

I'll catch a little flack for this probably, but I've never seen anyone light up a crowd with just pure music as George Strait does. It's just him, his guitar, his band, and the music. No lights, no show, doesn't need it. The music just makes a crowd erupt. It is unbelievable to be there for that.
I LOVE "The Ride." It is my favorite song of all time. I got to see Jamey Johnson perform it at 4th Street Live in Louisville, Kentucky in 2009. He was excellent. Really sounded like DAC. It's hard to find a song that beats "The Ride."

I'd rather be deaf than listen to Eddie Vetter.

LOL, I'm shocked people don't think more of that Aerosmith music awards performance. I remember watching that live and it was an unbelievable entrance. I've seen a lot of great live performances, but I suppose what I was going for is the unexpected that puts it over the top. I think for me that's when you get surprised with a great cover song. Maybe it was the whiskey, but I saw Charlie Daniels play 3 classic 70's guitar hits - only on his fiddle - and my mind was blownt. Wish I could find a link.
