pretty straight forward. doctors harvest the cells and place them in the gun. The cells are in a solution which is sprayed on the affected areas, and within four days the areas are completely healed. pretty remarkable stuff.

That was my thought as well, the arm they showed burned wasn't his or at least I thought I heard them say it probably looked like this, correct, heard that right?

However I have no problem with stem cell research and if this works it should be used!

No, I'm pretty sure "stem cell research" is code for "kill babies" if you ask some people. Especially Republicans in 2004. :)

It was a joke guys. I was 15 in 2004 but I remember there being a lot of debate about stem cell research during the campaigns.

And I always assume when it comes to political things. This way I seem like even more of an asshole (nearly everyone looks like an asshole when talking politics anyway).

Very very cool and huge for anything that requires skin grafts, not just burns. Hope this turns out to be true and is at hospitals soon.

For embryonic stem cells, yes. Not for stem cells in general.

Not to get too political here . . .

the opposition was to the fed. gov't providing funds to researchers who then artificially created embryos (i.e. life) for the sole purpose of subsequently killing it and harvesting the stem cells. That is, the debate was whether the federal government should fund research that involved creating and growing babies to take spare parts for others before killing them.

amazing. A few years ago, my daughter suffered 3rd degree burns on 1/3 of her body from road rash, along with plenty of other injuries. She was on the back of a Yamaha R1 and the boy decided to show off and went from 70 to 150mph in about 3 seconds on Interstate 4. She didn't know he was going to do that, and she couldn't hang on. She is small, the wind pulled her off the bike, got under her helmet and lifted her off. She had 3 plastic surgeries, 3 skin graphs, 1 with synthetic skin because she had none available on her body to use. Spent almost a month in the hospital.

that gun is a medical miracle

The only thing I don't get is he talks about his whole right side being burnt in the fire and then they show a picture that was supposed to be of his hand, only it is a picture of a left hand. ??? And why didn't they just show before and after pictures of his hand for 4 days to compare?

Now if they can just perfect it for different shades for "the perfect tan" the Jersey Shore crew will have something to spend all their money on!
