Yeah. I'm not really sure what, other than personal feeds, those 2 sites offer anymore.

I know that last NHL season ustream had a channel with Red Wings games that I always watched, but the people who "owned" the channel shut it down for this year.

ICE needs to go away and the DMCA needs massive revisions.

Until these people start embracing new media and free programming this sort of thing will just keep happening. If these websites are set up and the domains are registered outside the US I don't think that there's anything our government can do.

I also thought that the supreme court determined that file sharing sites (and I assume streaming sites like this) can't be held responsible for how people use the site.

I may be wrong on both points, I really don't know.

Technically, they definitely can. All domains in the world go through an organization called ICANN (Internet Corp. for Assigning Names and Numbers). ICANN is pretty buddy-buddy with the US Fed. If US authorities come to ICANN with any legitimate breech of US copyright laws, ICANN will do this without much question.

Still better than Spamhaus DDOSing your site for 30 hours straight (friend of mine had that happen because they said he was promoting unsolicited email ... which, in and of itself, is legal in the US).

I just tried channelsurfing.net and got the big ICE/Homeland picture. I hate that because I used to watch poker on there.

Pay attention to the text in bold.

That is funny.

This seems like a good use of homeland security resources. Nothing says homeland security to me like watching sports online.

Someone I follow on twitter tweeted that site yesterday. I cant remember who it was but its someone with a lot of followers(Darren Rovell maybe?). I figure this version wont last too long either.
