This. It's Mexi's thread and I was giving her the shredded chicken recipe so that's why I said Elaine.

I have heard you can make good cheesy potatoes in them but I've not tried it yet.
16oz Sour Cream
2 cans Cream of Chicken
4 cups of cheese
1 onion minced(optional)
1 lb Crispy Bacon(optional)
1 32oz bag of Southern Style Hashbrowns

Mix sour cream, soup, cheese, and onion in a bowl. Put down a layer of potatoes, a layer of the mixture, and continue layering till you finish with the mixture on top. Cook about 4hrs on high, and mix in the bacon before serving.

This sounds good. What do you usually serve this with?

That's essentially the same recipe I use. I tend to make them for potlucks, family cook outs, etc. It makes a pretty good sized batch.

I use cream of mushroom in mine, and leave out the bacon. I don't mix anything before I put it in the crockpot, either. I just dump it all in, stir it, then stir it again after it's warmed up a little bit.

Pulled Pork

Boston shoulder or butt
BBQ sauce (Sweet Baby Rays)
Honey
Can of Coke

Put the pork, can of coke and a little bit of honey in the crockpot. Cook on high for about 6-7 hours. Pull the pork apart with a fork and let it cook on low for another hour.
Throw it on a bun with some bbq sauce and a little coleslaw(Giant Eagles deli slaw is pretty solid)

Mrs. D makes a mean 4 pork chops, 2 cans of chicken rice soup and I think some water and turn it on low in the morning and it's great by suppertime. Very tender, you won't need a knife. I would probably vote a few carrots in to get my veggies if I was ever asked.

My wife makes this for Sunday brunch quite often. She alternates between bacon, sausage, or ham depending on her mood. Whatever she decides it is always good.

CROCK POT BREAKFAST CASSEROLE

1 lb. of bacon cut into pieces, fried and drained

3/4 lb. cheddar cheese diced
1 dozen eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
salt & pepper

Directions:

1. Layer the frozen potatoes, bacon, onions, and cheese in the crock pot in three layers. Finish up with cheese.

2. Beat the eggs, milk and mustard, salt &pepper together. Pour over the whole mixture.

3. Cook on low for ten to twelve hours

I rarely moderate breakfast food. I don't eat it often, but I kill it when I do. :D

I only make it for carry-ins. So, actually you might want to cut each of the ingredients in half if you're only making it for a family or yourself.

When I make my pulled pork I use beef broth, pull it out, shred it and use Montgomery Inn bbq sauce. I made 50 lbs. for my daughter's grad party last year and everyone loved it.

I make my meatballs with a can of crushed pinapple, small chopped onion, 1 bottle of bbq sauce and 2 T brown sugar. Very good stuff.

Simple chicken and noodles. Package of frozen egg noodles. 4 whole chicken breast, 2 cans 10 oz. of cream of chicken soup, half of stick of butter or margarine, water. Put soup, butter chicken in pot, put enough water in to cover, stir. Cook 4 hours on high, or until chicken is done, take chicken out and shred with fork, put back in with noodles, water to thin it out to your taste cook for another hour.

This sounded simple when I found it and I thought no way would it taste good, however my family and I loved it!

One thing I don't like about crock pots is the mess afterwards. Has anyone used the throw away bags that you can put inside of them?
