Honestly i was shocked it scored so high. I've had better Brown Ales and thought the flavor would be stronger. Newcastle is cheaper and tastes better IMO.

Finally got around and had one of the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ales. Wasn't as bad as I was anticipating it could be, only b/c i'm not big on Bourbon. I also still have a bit of a head cold so my taste is off. I could deff. smell the Bourbon but didn't get big flavor from it, seemed very subtle but again could be cause my taste is a wreck right now. It actually came off as a bit sweet, with some vanilla. I guess I liked it enough I'll finish off the other 3 instead of giving them away. LOL

Great lakes Holy Moses White Ale.
I've always liked New Castle, interested to see how this is. Although BA avg. review is like a 72.
I think I'll smash the Great Lakes tonight, along with one of my Stones.

I found a place that apparently has Cantillion frequently out here which is nice because I'm going to be here until the 5th now. Changed my flight from today to then.

That'd be awesome if you can score some. There was a store here in town that had 7 bottles when I first went there (Iris and Gueuze 100% Lambic). I might head up to Jungle Jim's tomorrow too. I want to try and get like 3 or 4 more bottles of Stone IRS to age. I already bought the last one at the Hyde Park Kroger.

I got no sleep last night from my damn daughter waking up so I'm tired as hell and wanted something to help knock me out so I'm going to drink the 2010 Three Philosophers I've been hanging on to. I'm not a huge fan of it so I decided I'd try to age one a few years and see if that made any difference.

True. Almost hesitant to drink one right now because it's so hard to find and I wanna make them last. Probably should just drink one though.

I am neither. Just a drunk that gets drunk on good beer...and gives good beer away too apparently. If you are going to the Jungle it's usually the later the better. Especially on a Saturday as the parking lot gets pretty full. But if you go earlier let me know the approximate time, as it's a 5-8 minute drive for me. Oh and the starting beer for tonight is DORIS...which is why I usually don't hit the Jungle until the afternoon. Go big or go home right ??? This was after some cheap Riesling wine.
Edit: follow that with a Speedway Stout at room temp, since it was a last second decision I pulled from the stash. (Possibly my favorite Stout ever)
