Funny, she called me too. Said she called to tell you that so you'd leave the house ;)

I picked up my brick today! Also grabbed a bomber of St B Abt 12, St B Trip, La Trappe Quad, Stone 12-12-12 while at the store. I dropped near $150 on 15 bottles of beer today. I think I need a Roch 10 to drink them all in a row.

Edit*

I see on BA that for Quads the ranking is #1 Westy, #2 Roch 10, #3 Abt 12, #7 La Trappe, #17 3 Philo.
#4-6 are called Pannepot from De Struise. Need to find since I have discovered Quad is my favorite type of beer over IIPAs.

Had to do some math 12-16 C = 52-60 F. Corner of the basement bar will be its resting spot until one is opened tonight.

Grabbed mine during lunch. I'll be having one tonight for sure. Since Saturday I've had the Rochefort 10, ST B. Abt 12, and tonight a Westy. Wonderful week for Quads.

Do you know anything about the Pannepot series (appears 3 of them) from De Struise?

Totally lost out on the West bricks, The Andersons had a bunch but are gone. Apparently people had been reserving them since March.

I obtained mine from the Maumee location and only reserved the brick within the last week.

To be fair, he isn't ENTIRELY wrong about the fashion part. Craft brews have been around for a long time, but it hasn't been trendy to be into them for a long time. When it is no longer trendy, there will indeed be drop off. However, while I agree that it may not grow indefinitely (Mercedes won't ever grow to the point of overtaking Ford), it will grow to a point where it mostly plateaus, only rising and dropping slightly with the trendiness of drinking craft beer.

Does anyone here really like it and enjoy drinking an entire bomber of it?
Don't drink it if you're wanting a beer beer.

I made a beer float with it that was good, but if you don't like sweet, do not buy a bomber for yourself.

Little favor if possible. Just had a friend of mine who joined Untappd tonight. (After he tried the Westy, how can you top that???) He recently just got into craft beers and I've brewed with him on our Breakfast Stout Clone. He's wanting to homebrew small batches again on his own. If any of you could add him as a friend so he can see the other beers that are out there that people are drinking, it would be appreciated and maybe Rep worthy. He's BuddyLee on Untappd. Thanks !!!

Got my Westy in the fridge getting just a little bit of chill on it. (The Wife likes a little bit of coldness...like her heart)

Picked up two bombers for tonight:

North & Western, a saison from Pipeworks Brewing (http://www.pipeworksbrewing.net/, http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/pipeworks-north-western/189222/; they are a really new brewery on the north side of Chicago).

Harpoon's Catamount Maple Wheat, part of their 100 barrel series: http://www.harpoonbrewery.com/beer/344/100-Barrel-Series-41-Catamount-Maple-Wheat

I am not sure how that can ever be topped. Without a doubt that was the best beer that I have ever had across my palate. The mouthfeel and aftertaste was epic. One down, five to go (hopefully I let them age a bit before the next tasting!)

Yes. Ageing them might be a problem. Might have to go to the 'grey market' and find more to get my fix.

From what I have heard and seen, no way these are going to be available for less than $400 a case.

Tonight, I enjoyed an Epic Vertical 11.11.11 this evening. "Epic" is the perfect name for this. So complex. Fruit taste on the front end, but I honestly can't figure out what fruit (maybe figs?). Some spicy pepper hints on the back end. Consistency was comparable to a barleywine or a thicker Imperial IPA. It was great.

I'm now finishing off the last two Old Mans (Men?) I got earlier this week. Very solid winter ale.
