Okay, I hate to post after myself, but in this case I will. Having the Double Trouble now, after 2 Anchor Summers and 1 Two Hearted. It stands up well after the Two Hearted as it should since it's an Imperial IPA. First sip reminds me of a DFH 90 minute. Actually smell wise now that I take it in again it's a lot like the 2010 edition of Hopslam.(musty scent) It just doesn't finish have the same finish of Hopslam. So basically smell of Hopslam and finish/taste of 90 minute...which is actually decent. I thought it tasted more 'floral' last year like the Brooklyn Blast tasted when I had it years ago. Oh well different year, different beer, from the same brewery, and that's what keeps me coming back.

Boris, maybe tomorrow night I'll have the Gnomegang and report back...no promises. I figure it's going to be excellent. I was to distracted by the weather porn tonight to actually sit down and enjoy it like it should be enjoyed.

Tonight I got a six pack of Left Hand Milk Stout, a six pack of Left Hand Sawtooth Ale, and a couple of Arrogant Bastards.

Sat outside all day drinking Smuttynose Shoals Pale Ale and Founders Double Trouble.

Couple of Tuskers this evening nothing special but a decent brew.

I had the Gnomegang the other night and it was good. Just what I expected for the most part...solid. I couldn't call it over the top and at $10.00 a bottle I'm glad I tried it. Not sure if I'll buy another Gnomegang at that price point, but it was worth it once.

We made a trip to the store today to pick up stuff for supper. Ended up buying more beer than we expected and a few we never have tried. The ones I haven't tried are O'Fallon Black Hemp, Brewdog Hardcore IPA, and Sam Adams Wee Heavy (Imperial Series). Of course The Wife wanted hops so we grabbed the Founders Red's Rye P.A. We also grabbed a bottle of Lambic, that just sounded good at the time. She grabbed a couple bottles of the Samuel Smith Organic Ale for her...Strawberry and Cherry. Fine I said, so I grabbed 2 bottles of Rochefort 10 for ME !!! I think we are set for a while, or at least this weekend.

I'm on my second Wee Heavy right now and it is down right decent. Not as good as Alesmith's, but I think that Alesmith set the Standard for anything called Wee Heavy. Actually all of the Sam Adams Imperial Series are pretty damn good. This one might go down as my favorite from that Series.

I noticed today the the store was pretty light on DFH. Anyone else seen that issue where you shop? Just wondering if the show Brew Masters had anything to do with it.

Most of the stores I go to have been light on the Dogfish Head for a while now. Maybe that is it.

Glad I'm not the only one that noticed that. There was no 60 or 90 minute, just some Midas Touch, Palo Santo, and Raison D'Etre. I almost grabbed some Midas, but figured I'd probably be there tomorrow again so I waited. As much as I hate to say it I'm just not a big fan of the Raison D'Etre.

Side note, Brew Masters was not renewed, but there still is one episode left to be aired...Not sure when. Anthony Bourdain tweeted that 'Big Beer' threatened to pull ads if Brew Masters didn't go. Having the O'Fallon Black Hemp. Not as hoppy as I would have liked considering it has the word Hemp. I figured it would be a black IPA, but it only says Black Ale on the box. It could be that my taste buds are blown after the Wee Heavy. Oh well, maybe after this one I bust out the Rochefort. That one will stand up to most beers drank before it.

Yeah, the stores I go to have had the Reason to Be, Midas Touch, and the Aprihop.

Sierra Nevada Is going to be releasing a bunch of their beers in cans by the end of the year. If I start getting into more outdoorsy stuff I know I'll be throwing cans of Pale Ale, Torpedo and Bigfoot in my bag.

Returned from Baltimore Sunday night. That place has tons of Brewpubs and Taphouses. Saturday night we went to Max's Taphouse (http://www.maxs.com/) w/ I believe over 80 beers on tap. If I remember correctly, I had the 2XIPA, Victory Headwaters Pale and another hoppy ale that I can't recall. I also sampled my buddies Gnomegang and Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere. I would rate these, but it was at the end of a long day of boozing.
Started out at Heavy Seas for a noon tour of their facilities. Was surprised that it was much smaller scale than when we toured GLBC, although they did mention that they just purchased a conjoining building for expansion. They had 4 of their mainstays to sample (Loose Cannon, Gold Ale, Small Craft Warning and their Marzen) as well as 2 "tour exclusives" One was a Trappist Ale that I enjoyed, which is pretty rare for me as I usually prefer the hoppy styles over many of the Belgium's w/ their malty flavors. Also picked up a $20 dollar case of their Gold Ale that they put in the wrong bottle and were selling at a discount. After the tour we went downtown and knocked back a Breckenridge Agave Wheat, Rogue Dead Guy Ale and Heavy Seas Loose Cannon. The previous day we bought a bottle of Duclaw Colossus and decided to have some of that before we went to the Orioles/Yankees game. WOW, at 21.92% abv this thing is no joke. Very, Very sweet aroma almost like candy. Couldn't really pick up the scent of alcohol. The taste, much like the smell was very sweet, too sweet for my taste, almost syrupy. With that said, it was more drinkable than I expected for something with this high of abv, and if I enjoyed a sweeter/malty beer I could have drank more. I pretty much knew this going in, but had to give a 22% bottle a try.

Had the Gnomegang this weekend as well. One word: banana. Didn't mind the beer, wasn't my favorite, and I don't think it lived up to my (admittedly) high expectations.

It's apparently everywhere, and it seems to be due to their success. Speaking of which, I was drinking 90 minute for Easter.

Damn. I would think the PBR would kill any decent lingering of the Milk Stout. If you're ever in Akron, let me know you're coming. We'll split a bottle of something good and have a couple cigars. Only rule: No PBR!

I was getting drunk last night since I don't work for a few days and I'm way too poor to get drunk on decent beer so I usually start with a few decent ones and then proceed to the swill. And PBR is my swill of preference. But yeah I'm not in Akron very often but next time I am and I have some time I'll let you know.

Plus you could educate me on cigars seeing as I have no knowledge of them whatsoever. Had quite a few when I went to Ashland because some of my friends were into them but I can barely afford my current hobbies let alone adding another. Eventually.

Little thing that happen the other day when The Wife went to buy beer. She came home and said I don't believe we've tried this Weyerbacher Tiny so I bought a bottle. I told her we had that on hand and had to remind her of the conversation we had when we bought it. The salesman said to age it for at least 6 months before you drink it. Then she remembered. It's all good though since I haven't tried it, I can drink the bottle I have from last year. I'll try to get to it some time this week, maybe even tonight with some bread and cheese.

Let me know what you think. For a Belgian Imperial Stout, I don't mind it right off the shelf, but I bet it's AWESOME aged.

I still haven't had the Tiny. In fact is still sitting by my PC. I've been on a hop binge as of late. Last night it was the Brew Free or Die IPA. This went down quick with only 3 drinks. I must been thirsty. I thought this might be a nice 'session' beer...only afterwards did I realize it was a 7%er. Then it was the 90 minute, yea they finally had some at the store, then the Double Trouble...then back and forth between the two of those till it was nite nite time.

I did put the Tiny in the fridge, so at least I'm getting closer to drinking it.

Was at a Walgreens today, saw the Big Falls brew for $2.99 for the sixer, would have picked it up if I was not an hour from being home.
