Got a tough one tonight...was closer than the score indicated. At halftime both teams were knotted at 153 yds of offense, triway had 9 1st downs...Bears only 5.

Hopefully we can build off this and get a "W" next week in Rittman.

Hillsdale was in a Dogfight it looks like.

NWN was in it and the wheels came off.

Smithville looking to make the run I thought they might in the pre season.

And of course...Bobcats stalk.

Bears stayed really conservative and let Triway self destruct. It was pretty obvious by halftime this game was over even though it was only 23-0.
Good grief. Did Mapleton really beat the Indians that bad?? I honestly didn't think the Mounties could beat a peewee team on a good night. Rittman must be horrendous.
The rest of the games went as I expected. Norwayne appears to be the class of the league so far.

I attended the Bobcats game tonight and what can I say? Norwayne destoyed WR. The score was 21 - 0 just a few minutes into the game. Norwayne could have done anything they wanted to. Once again the 2's and 3's played the last qtr plus. I dont know if these teams are this bad or if Norwaynes that good. We scored 56 and could have scored 75. Norwayne has outscored opponents 131 - 14 and 7 of those points were against our 3's. That 131 could be much higher. We travel to Northwestern then have Rittman the following week. Not being cocky I dont see any way either of those teams keep Norwayne from scoring 40 or 50 points.

Congratulations to Hillsdale, Smithville and Waynedale tonight

Yes they are bad.

Wellington is 0-2 and has only scored 14 points while giving up 70 points
CVCA is 0-2 as well and are down.
Western Reserve is bad as well.

Now, Norwayne is pretty darn good, but with the league being a little down this year, you should have a good chance at winning it.

I'm not sure who Bingo is but from what I hear Norwayne is no where near a cupcake. As far as my Orrville brethren is concerned (OQB) Wellington and CVCA both won tonight. Our riders lost for the 2nd year in a row in OT to Copley. That sucks big. I have abunch of friends in the Norwayne district and I'm not saying anything about anyone in our region right now. Manchester fell to Black river who got beat by Norwayne in a scrimmage. Both are poised to pass us this week in the computer rankings. I respect that. Congratulations to the Cats!

I wasn't trying to be negative, Norwayne has a darn good football team this year. I coached a few of those boys in travel baseball...good athletes!

I was just pointing out that the teams they have played are not contending for anything this year, so don't put a lot of stock in it. Take care of business every week and see where the chips lay. Norwayne has a good shot this year.

not counting WR...Norwaynes opponents have the same number of wins Orrville 2 wins have...2-4...just something to chew on....

Exactly, and we played a good team tonight and look what happened. I didn't put a lot of stock in those first two games, and never said we were going to score x amount of points against so and so...as long as we get the win that is what matters. Lol

The win was not as beautiful as the Falcon fans would like to see, but a lot of credit has to go to the Redbirds they came to play. The same team that almost beat a good Crestview team showed a lot of fight. Fundamentals were a big problem for the Falcons last night, ball control, blocking and tackling all showed to be a problem at times.

I am actually thinking Chippewa may get two league wins. Here is how I see it now.
Norwayne - undefeated and hope they get to play Orrville in week 11
Hillsdale - loses to Norwayne
Smithville & Waynedale - tie with 2 leagues losses
Northwestern - 3 league wins
Chippewa - beats Dalton & Rittman

Has anyone ran the table and went 10-0 since the Bears did it in the late 90's? 2 maybe 3 years in a row...I know Smithville was close but always seemed to slip up. I know Rittman did it in 1986...10-0 seasons arent too common in the WCAL.....just a thought.

Chipps sound like they were doing a little better last night.

Smithville is TEARING UP THE TURF.

NWN with a halftime lead.

Starting off shaky and cut n dry...but things are starting to show some promise for another interesting season.

We could have played Lucas instead of the D-6 state champs!
