Oh Manchester will kick your butts. Should you schedule them, I will give you tips on how to survive your trip to their house... hint.....take some firewood.

Quite a game in Smithville tonight.
It doesn't get much better than a FG attempt for the win with 4 seconds left that gets blocked. Heck, the last 2 minutes was non stop excitement.

The thing that got me though was Smithville put their QB at WR during a crucial moment in the 4th then completed a long pass to him to set up the go ahead TD with under 2 or 3 minutes on the clock. This was a hell of a fun game to watch, can't say enough about the last few minutes.

Smithville looked good. I thought their big linemen that go both ways might wear down in the heat, but they did a nice job-especially #67. Also a bit surprised by the numerical size of the Smithies, I thought they had more players.

Being a Husky homer, I hate to say it, but unless things change drastically I doubt NWN will stand much of a chance against Smithville or Mogadore.

The Northwestern Huskies were beaten like red headed step children this evening. A total and complete slapdown....in all phases of the game. Things went so bad for the Huskies, I'm surprised the Bus started for their humiliating trip home. Looks like my 3-7 prediction may be too generous.

GoFalcs....
Congrats on the Mapleton news!!!!

Speaking of Mapleton....
I think Rittman visits next week.....I for one, gotta see this game. I don't know why....but I'm drawn to it.

In the end, I believe it was their in-ability early to move the ball that was their demise. This new punting scheme they have is horrible and I bet did not net more than 30 yards all night. Many, many cramps tonight on the NW side. Just like last week I think, Black River must have watched their film good because the middle was wide open that I could have drove Paul through it. The play calling was so bad..almost like the coaches were one step behind BR the entire night. I am not sure the coaches from BR watched film because running it up the middle all night to get 18 yards in the first half with a RB that is 150 lbs wet will not win you ball games. Especially a team like BR with huge and quick linemen.

Anyway, I could keep going about the refs, parents, and cheerleaders and their inability to spark us up, but I will leave it for another day....lol. Good night WCAL, good games it looked like around some parts.

Have a great weekend

You are blaming cheerleaders for the loss? Must have been a tough night.

A loss is a loss, but this mom breathed a sigh of relief tonight. Looking more like Dalton football this week! Offense smoother and more coordinated, backs and recievers more confident in their patterns, and we scored which was good for the kids morale! Won't be our best season, but looks like everyone is learning from this OJT season.
Good game to our neighbor from the east! I think they will do well in their conference!
Always good to see the mix of orange/red/black/and blue socializing after game. And the chicken and donuts were yummy!

i think next week if rittman does not win will be my last rittman game of the year until chippewa. same thing happened as danville tonight. defense gets a couple big stops then offense just turns the ball over or the qb gets sacked. rittmans qb threw 2 picks that went for TDs and also fumbled one that was scooped and scored. in 2 games the rittman qb (coaches son) has threw 6 or 7 picks and has lost atleast 2 fumbles that have been returned for tds! When will the coach finally try another kid at QB!? im gonna say never! im giving mapleton the nod next friday unfortunatly unless they put a new qb in for rittman!

I'm getting my first look at the 2011 model of the Hillsdale Falcons on TV right now and they look REAL BIG! Def Lineman #76 is huge....so are a few others. Bucyrus looks like they came to play...all the makings of a real good game....too bad I already know the final score. I can even hear GoFalcons ringing that damn bell.

Syd...
You're right, a very painful night for NWN. Game tape should be destroyed.

BRF...
Friggin' Miyagi.......his mouth and his women are the same.........loose.
Trust him at your own peril......and congrats on your teams victory.

Dalton then forced a stop moved it right back down the field threw a TD pass but was called back on a holding call. Next play we fumble and Tuslaw scores on the last play of the half to make it 21-7 at the half. Some bad luck in 2nd with a long TD run for Tuslaw and fumble recovery for a TD. Dalton did score then in the 4th with the Tuslaw 1st team D still to make it 35-14 with Moyer scoring on both plays. Things are starting to go better for the Dogs. Hoping the Dogs can put it together next week against a 2-0 Timken (opponents maybe subject) and get a W.
yes offense look alot better tonight . i think shawn toney ran the ball pretty good at the fullback spot also . we still need alot work on defence tuslaw had alot big plays throwing and running if we could of made a play or two get the turnovers down, it would have been a closer gm what the score showed . all and all we improved from last week that all we can ask for !!

Bears lost to a well coached, well disciplined team...However, the play callin was suspect at best......after the pick 6 it was over. Kids hung there heads. Never got the fire back....But I cant understand for the life of me.....why in the DEUCE we have a kicker that can put it in the endzone...yet we opt to pooch kick.

Did we lose to a better team tonight???? I dont think.....i think we were pretty equal! Were we outcoached??? Absolutely!

WCLfan;881064 wrote:Hell of a game tonight in Smithville! The return of Tyler Buss really sparked the Smithies, even though he was limited he made big plays (the forced fumble being the obvious). Mark Hilty also came up big, a 58 yard TD run and I believe he blocked, or atleast helped block the FG at the end. Smithville offense looked good, defense still needs work.

Let's Go Green!!!
I was at the game tonight! It was AMAZING! Up until the final fieldgoal was blocked, I was having flashbacks to Chippewa '99. With a kicker that belted a 49-yarder last week, I was REALLY freaked when Moggy hit that flag pattern pass on the final drive, and then the run that was (thankfully) brought back 10 yards at the end.

I was talking to a couple of the Smithie coaches after the game, and one of them said that tonight was significant for this team, not only because this is the first win Smithville has EVER had against Mogadore (they were 0-4 previously), but because, in the words of the coach, "they now know what it takes to win ... they experienced it."

Watching the energy of the team on the field tonight gave me visions of Smithie teams of 10-15 years ago, and they looked like a sleeping giant that had finally awakened. They still need to shore up some things, but that was a REALLY good Mogadore team, which I can't see not making the playoffs this year.

Who is #24 for Smithville? That guy seemed like a real playmaker on offense! Seemed like 3 of every 4 times he touched the ball, he took it for 8+ yards! They've got quite a stable in the backfield ... something it's good to see again in the Emerald City.

If we're gonna be technical, I'm thinking about 5 - 14 years ago. Hell, 9 years ago was when we went to the state championship. We went at least three rounds in the playoffs in 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2004. Those are 11, 10, 9, and 7 years ago, respectively. However, even before, after, and between that, we were the consistent favorite to win the WCL/WCAL.

This team tonight ... it showed flashes of those teams that were picked to win the league.

History is what Legends are made of, the future is what Dreams are made of.
This is not your daddies WCAL.
The Falcons owe a lot of teams about forty years of beatings!

Bloody: What is your final assessment? A pretty good stable at least, don't you think!

After what will be possibly the only victory of the year for the winner of this game, you yank that away with your crushing, hurtful words!!!!!

How are you gonna top this comment Ringz? Maybe run around yelling "retard" at the special olympics?

I only missed one of my picks this week! It was a hell of a game in the Emerald City last night!!! Smithville will continue to improve and by the time League play opens, the Smithies are going to suprise some people! O-Trap, you got it right! A sleeping Giant has awaken from a 4 year slumber. The huge offensive line is going to win the Smithies some games this year. I am very suprised at low numbers on the team the last few years, this could be the thing that would hurt the team if there are injuries.

I agree, Old Smithie, an injury to one of the linemen would hurt. Nice group of RBs.
Seems like almost all starters go both ways, a problem that Moggy didn't have, and it really kept things close.

That would be Jr. Tolan Shane. Shane averaged 8 yards per carry last night (13 for 104). The Smithies are averaging 350 rushing yards (358 against Tuslaw and 342 against Mogadore) per game.

Miyagi also was surprised by the low numbers on the team............Miyagi also thought that the Smithville crowd would be bigger...... What's up with having an auction at halftime that no one is bidding on ???????

Hey Red Rum ...... you remember what the 50/50 was last night ??
