Don't necessarily disagree with this order. Except maybe the bottom 3 in any order.

The Ashland paper does deserve some love. So far, they have done an outstanding job on HS football coverage. I'm still a DR guy though. Both papers HS football coverage is IMO superior to the Medina Gazette.

Good ole' Bloody-- The Huskies may indeed have a poor season, they also may surprise you. You just can't tell until the season gets going. I'm personally hoping for .500 or better. I agree they will live and die by the defense. (most teams do)

Hillsdale--Wow! 68 kids out, 5 straight years of .500+ football, a WCAL championship, 2 playoff appearances. Times have changed and the Falcons have arrived. Congrats to the community and team.

Score6's prediction seems as good as any. I feel confident Nor & Hills will go 1-2 the rest could shake out in numerous different ways.

The Ashland newspaper covers Hillsdale (who is actually in Ashland County) and I would assume they cover Northwestern as well.

Throw in the perrenial WCAL upset...and you may have a 3 way tie for 1st.... ;) You pick the teams!!!

Edit: Beast has been laying low...waiting on the smoke to clear. This is obviously a football page....and the internet is obviously serious business!

All right, I will go out on a limb with my traditional WCAL upset pick. Norwayne gets beat by Smithville or Waynedale.

OrrQB is correct, the Ashland TG covers Hillsdale & Northwestern and yes, this is a WCAL thread.

If I didn't know better I'd say you're getting smarter.

Waynedale and Norwayne could be an offensive burst!!! However the Bears need a little work defending the pass to beat Norwayne.

That is why it is called an upset....the team not predicted to win, wins the game.

Who says Norwayne is predicted to win? Putting the cart before the horse there buddy! In week 6, The Cats could be 0-5 and The Bears 5-0...then who's the pick of the populace to win the game....?

Simply a hypothetical, of course!

Edit: Looked at the schedule wrong...We play Norwayne in week 6

Saw something quite offensive come out of Norwayne in the form of a video....Shows seniors hitting a bare bottomed freshman with belts in the locker room after a practice....

If in deed the video, or talk of the video is true, where were the Coaches???? this kind of thing can hurt a program. I hope its not true, but if it is, I hope the proper steps are taken and to punish the players involved.

In the next 12 - 24 hours...this video and the lips of all involved will be sealed tighter than the grip of a fat kids hand on a chocolate bar.... :(

The Cats will be favored in Week Five and you can take that to the bank.

LOL! The analogy is "rich"!

Seriously, though, BRF is very sad to hear this and SMH at kids who film stuff, post it up on Facebook and think that only their buddies will see it. Like beast said, back in the day, you might be able to get away with it. Not now when you post it up for all to see. It is wrong and I hope it's not true.

we will have to be patient in bulldog country this year - there is some talent there, but so much of it comes in a 9th or 10th grade package. You're just not going to get consistent play and your defense is also likely to be far ahead of your offense (not to mention when you have a kid playing qb that has never really played the position.) I think we're going to be pleasantly surprised at times this year and pulling our hair out at others. We had some many of the same kids start for the last 3-4yrs, it will be a different game to be so young, but that's the way it goes some years.
