Look at the scores of those games.....when Orrville wins it's pretty convincing, when Copley wins it is usually close (accept for a few years...Delone Carter, who is in the NFL ran all over us lol)
A convincing win is not typically one that prepares you for anything, though, because the win is convincing as a result of the opponent not playing at the same level, so I'm not sure how those games would have helped Orrville.

It doesn't unless you struggle with 2 or 3 conference opponents. Then, the extra win against a decent-to-good team in non-league play becomes a blessing.

I was saying that Orrville won that year, but that since then, Orrville has not beaten a Copley team unless it was having a down year. Since then, I believe Orrville is 1-1 against Copley teams that end up going 6-4. If Copley ends up worse, Orrville wins convincingly (meaning the experience isn't likely that helpful, and the points aren't much better). If Copley ends up better, Orrville gets 0 points, albeit the experience might be good.

Thing is, a loss to Dover instead of a win over Triway would have made Orrville's placement in last year's playoffs much different. They would have probably still made it, but it would have been far more likely for them to have had to play Clearfork in Rd. 2, and we saw what Clearfork did to them in the regular season.
Plus, they lost to Triway in 09, so it wasn't as though you couldn't have called that scheduling up.
I get that schools in higher divisions give you more first level points, and I suppose some might have the perception that a mediocre team in a higher division is better than a good team in a lower division, but I'm not convinced that is the case. I'd be interested in seeing some facts on that, as I only have anecdotes.

Potentially, yes. Sometimes Orrville wins. Sometimes Triway (or whichever team) wins. I would contend that there would be a level of parody in years when both teams do well with their own respective schedules.

Yeah ... we were.
