yes and not happy about it right now and not sure what happened. I got a report and cant find anything on it. was over 700 last year now im under it. on all three. How are the ways it goes down. I know everytime you get a report it hurts the numbers but i only check it once a year. I owe nothing but the house right now and never been late on a payment. One credit card and only used it twice last year and paid it off as soon as I got the bill. So I am completely dumbfounded on how it dropped 30+ points.

I knew it when I bought my house 2 years ago. I assume it hasn't gone down, but I never check the number. I do the free yearly report but that's it.

Yes, we know ours. We download our free annual report each year (which doesn't list the score) (I think it's annualcreditreport.com). But we also recently refinanced, so we could see our scores then. We're pretty meticulous in monitoring our credit.

Yes. It sucks right now because my student loan people screwed me over. The 6th month grace period ended, but they never sent me anything via email, phone, mail saying that payment had started. I got a call 1 week before it defaulted demanding back payment. Been fighting to get it back up ever since (The lowest was 575, but I'm up in the low-mid 600s now). Luckily my wife has outstanding credit (mid 700s)

Literally the same exact thing happened to me.

They called and wanted a payment of almost 23 grand. I said uh, no. Luckily they hooked us up with another company that is letting us pay it off based on my income(my dad is actually paying the bill). So it's only like $40 a month.

I'm in the process of buying a house, so I know mine. Back when I had to write & mail checks to pay bills, it was probably low, as I had quite a few late payments, but now that all my monthly payments are automated, I haven't had a single late payment in 8 or 9 years, that and having no debt helps the score a lot...

mcburg- My understanding is that your score only goes down on Hard Inquirys (if you apply for credit and creditor runs the report), for Soft Inquirys, such as running your own credit report, don't reduce the score.

Not sure what it is at the moment but when we bought our house three years ago my wife and I were both ~800. I was just under and she was just over.

That's it. IMO it's a little confusing the first time but they will direct you to each of the three credit reporting agencies and give you a copy of what they each have for your credit report. It doesn't give you a number, but it will let you see if they have bogus info out there. (my dad and I have the same first name so we get a lot of stuff on each others credit report.) You can do it once a year for free just to make sure someone isn't doing something in your name. I'm better at printing out the reports than I am at actually going through them,

They were only demanding like 2,000 BUT I WISH my payment was that low.

No idea. Parents started my credit when I was 16, paid it off every month, and since I took it over I have done the same. So I'm assuming it is pretty good but no idea.

Recently getting pre-approved for home loan. I was an 803 in May, went down to 790-something because I purchased a new vehicle and it lowered my credit score somehow when they checked my credit at the dealership. Still sitting pretty though.

Looking into buying car in the near future so I checked it out last week. I dont remember the exact number but its in the 730s.

My credit was shit after my 1st year of school. I got a couple credit cards and maxed em out on a bunch of shit that I didnt need. It took me over a year to get my credit back where I wanted it, I dont have any intention on letting that happen again.
