An excellent hire. Drayton was also UF's recruiting coordinator this year, and will help strengthen OSU ties to Florida talent.

Good get. Hopefully we grabbed one of the clean ones from the SEC as those are hard to find now-a-days.

The last I heard WR JaJaun Story was unhappy with this selection and now more likely headed to Gainesville.

UF hired WR coach Aubrey Hill from Miami after Shannon was canned. Hill is a Gator alum and was Miami's recruiting coordinator. UF got the better deal.

We got an in to Florida, which is nice and a huge plus considering we're, you know, in Ohio.

Story has been a long shot for OSU all along, so I doubt this factors into his decision, no matter what he says. His family wants him to stay closer to home.

Funny how when Drayton left Florida the first time, he was a scumbag no good coach, and when he came back was greeted as a great hire. Now losing him is no big deal again.

Gotta love gaytor fans.

Since he's got Ohio ties, it only makes this hire stronger, imo.

Story has always been a Florida verbal. So he may have ended up there regardless. However, I don't necessarily believe he was "unhappy," regardless of the alleged facebook post. I'm sure he knew about the likelihood of Drayton's presence before and during his visit to Columbus. This shouldn't be news to him.

Writerbutteye,
when he left the first time, he showed lack of class with his remarks about UF. Addazio brought him back, and now I'm glad they are both gone.

Whatever you say.

And if anyone would have intimate knowledge of "butt eyes" it would likely be you.

After watching Fla play compared to the undisciplined Miami team over the years.....ya, it sure looks like UF got the better deal. Lets see, would I rather have a coach who worked under a guy like Meyer...or one who worked and learned under Shannon? Only seen through Gator goggles. lol

The Draytons love Gainesville, and when they moved back they sure didn't expect to have to move the kids again in only a year. I wish him the best, because of course the Bucks are my 2nd team. OSU already had good recruiting in Florida, I don't see how it could get that much better with Drayton. Just get ready for more fumbles than OSU ever had at WR.

I don't believe this is a very good hire for OSU. He is a running backs coach not a WR coach.

He can coach the centers for all I care. He's been Florida's recruting Co-ordinator.

Lol.

UF recruiting coordinator or The U's recruiting coordinator???

I can't speak on the coaches, but the overall success around the two programs which leads me to believe that Drayton is the better hire whether he coach the QB, RB, or WR's. Granted they didn't have the overall impact on the programs like the other coaches, Florida had a lot more talent so I'll take Drayton over Hill.

Coaches switch job titles all the time, nothing new or worriesome.

Most coaches will coach different positions throughout their coaching career.

Exactly. While he is a somewhat shady person, look at Trooper Taylor at Auburn. He coached Running Back's and WRs at Tennessee and WRs at Auburn. It seems that his ability to recruit is a has been quite helpful for Auburn's program(plus boosters deep wallets.)
