Might have to go with Cal...long ass time to not miss a game when you know damn well he had to be hurting.

Favre might get a vote too but he was on meds for a good portion of the time by his admission.

Good for Lance Armstrong, but i don't see him as the toughest ATHLETE when he participates in a hobby and not a sport.

Lance Armstrong, Kurt Angle, Cael Sanderson, or Dean Karnazes. My vote goes to any of these guys.

Who asked about mental toughness?

Is all about your definition of tough. Mine? I think of durable and able to withstand punishment.

Ripken is a good answer, that streak is unreal.

Just because you never played a real sport, doesn't make my point any less valid.

Not to mention he's a juicer.

I'd give Lance his due also, but I have issues with that sport. I view it as if its to good to be true, it probably is. Lance doped and I'm cool with it.

PEDs are rampant in all sports. I just accept it.

As for Ripkin......my Moms factory job is more physical then playing a baseball game.

My Mom is 60, a little over wieght and you know what her doctor told her to do??? Go ride a bike for some excercise.
If my Mom can participate in cycling, then Lance doesn't get my vote, sorry.

There have been multiple sources that have reported him failing drug tests.

I'm talking about the actual definition.

Says someone who likely has never played a baseball game that didn't involve a tee because he wasn't coordinated enough.

Barry Bonds never failed a test either. GTFO. Do you believe everything you are told?

As for the topic of the thread, I guess it all depends on how you define tough. If you are implying tough meaning able to play with pain Paul Pierce is probably near the top of the list. :D

I didn't do 12 100 meter hill repeats but I did run 15 miles in the snow and had to run up and down some hills today... does that make me cool too? Lol at thinking 5 miles and 12 100 meter hill repeats is anything special I did that shit in high school... for fun after basketball.

Ok seriously fuck Lance Armstrong and that douchey sport anyway. Its not even in the top 50 when I think of the word "tough" in sports.

Even though I think hes an absolute tool Brett Favre is probably up there. That old man got his world rocked countless times and kept getting up.
