Granville 152 pounder Alex Marcum is really coming along. Watch out for him come district time, the improvments i saw in him between the county tournament and the licking heights tournament were HUGE.

i believe Higgins Majored Hetterscheidt over the summer (not 100% about that, believe it was at New albany duals....please correct me if im wrong!!) but...it is a different day...would love to be there to see them match up at the District....but im a Darby distrct fan ;]

also, id like to see Zoller vs Maynard... thatd be worth your admission cost!

Great question! I think you could make a very good case for King being #1.

higgins might have teched hetterscheidt over the summer, but i know for a fact that wrestling over the summer is totally different then wrestling during the season. i'm not saying that higgins wouldn't beat him, i just think it'll be a close match. and i believe the reason that hetterscheidt is ranked 1st and higgins 2nd is because higgins dropped down and hetterscheidt has been number 1 all year.

LOL, I love Higgins...but he never teche'd Hetterscheidt. No where close. I know one opponent Hetterscheidt beat that Higgins cant this season. So please stop this garbage. With that they're bouts should be fun to watch. Both studs and high placers this year! I bow down to Hizzmother....please dont hurt me...

So, yes, I'll whine about this, but only good naturedly, because it is what it is... a ranking by a very knowledgeable coach who has seen both young men wrestle... and wrestle each other... and wrestle on the same team.... in the summer. And I'd settle for two weeks in a row... districts and states... I could use less to worry about the first week. Just let them all stay healthy and take it to the mats soon (too soon!)

Oh... and after looking for New Albany results on here forever, it occurred to me that I had the video... 7-0 Higgins with the one doing the rankings standing right in the middle of my video tape. :)

hmmm thompson 3rd at 125... Hoffman from Davidson (D1) beat thompson during the all-star meet. Hoffman isn't even close to being ranked in top 3 at 125 in D1 and thompson gets third in D2? Is D1 125 that hard or is D2 125 just much eaiser?

not really. well there are already the top 3 from lancaster, teays valley and olentangy. there is also Haslam from westland if he goes 125 he would be ranked ahead, also Alexander from coffman who beat Haslam in overtime, Varazashvili from Kilbourne who has already beaten Hoffman 9-4 this year. (Haslam or Varazashvili may go 119). I can't think of anyone else at the moment but I feel like I am missing someone, but there you have 6 people well capable of beating him. Either way he is going to have a tough time getting into the top 4. 119 and 125 is going to be a dogfight in D1 Districts between many wrestlers who are almost at the same level, trying to get to get to the next level, it's a tough district and I think many state-quality wrestlers won't be able to get through.

Im not saying hes #1 just saying he could/should be up there close.
He just pinned Alexander last week. Maybe he's now in the discussion with the next tier?
