I can't blame the kids for rushing the court. They haven't had a big win in a long long time. And you've gotta give the iu fans credit. They continue to show up to watch piss poor basketball, so I say go for it.

Notice only about 1/7 of the student section rushed the court...thank god. Im as excited as ANYONE...but IU NEVER needs to rush the floor.

This was Creans first win versus a Top 25 team at IU.

O yeah you could definitely tell everyone wasn't in on that action. And you hit my point exactly, it's IU, it shouldn't be necessary to rush the court. In the words of Jason Whitlock, Bobby Knight watched the court rush while cackling and rolling a blunt.

Well, I hate to ask but is this win IU starting to turn the corner or Illinois tanking/slumping?

It's a young team that plays hard playing at home and upsetting a good team.

Their most hated team outside Purdue. I knew IU would be up for this game, it was a question of closing...and their defense was outstanding, thus the close.

But the Hoosiers do have some talent. Its just that they are all SO or FR, so they have long lulls, and dont get up for the games with no crowds, etc. As I stated before the year, they will play with the top half of the conference and win their fair share...but they will also lose their fair share to the lower half and wont blow anyone out.

Wouldn't argue that, did play hard. I just think Illinois may be hitting a lull, they probably should have won this game, hard to argue that either.

Illinois definitely should have won this game. They appear to get bored when playing teams they should beat, and yet they are good enough to take teams like Texas and Ohio State to the wire and beat teams like North Carolina and Michigan State.

You forget, a lot of those students have never seen nor remember what Indiana basketball is supposed to be like.

How about Michigan over MSU at MSU!!?? I think that was a bigger shock than the IU upset. MSU is not at 12-8. They may have a tough time making NCAA if they don't turn things around quickly. This is where that scheduling comes back to haunt them.

I would say neither. Indiana is much better (although still not very good) when playing at home, and Illinois is always maddeningly inconsistent.

Weber. Illinois needs a new coach, Ive been saying it for years and if he cant perform better and consistently with this squad it is very telling imo.

Point? They still don't need to rush the floor.

Purdue has never won a title. I'd say the same thing if their students ever rushed the court versus anyone. If you consider yourself to be a good to great basketball program, you should act like it when you win. I dont care how shitty IU has been the last 2.5 years, it was retarded to rush the court. It isnt like all of the students dont know IUs history inside and out.

Hey...I think it's silly to rush the floor if you win a National Title.

Penn State does it again at home, this time taking out Wisconsin. That makes 3 ranked teams going down in State College. With pretty much no advantage with the home crowd it's safe to say Penn State is just pretty good.

Its what we have been seeing for the last decade with Mid-Majors and having a bunch of guys stick around. PSU has 4 seniors that start, and have played significant time over the course of their careers.

BTW, todays crowd was decent.

Anyone else think Minny is pretty much finished? They looked dreadful without Al Nolen, and subsequent no PG at all.

It's definitely going to be tough sledding for them. They still have some good talent at the top in Hoffarber, Mbakwe, and Sampson but not sure if it'll be enough to carry them. They'll probably continue to win at home and beat a few good teams but there will be some struggles.

They'll probably finish around 10-8 in conference. They don't have any really difficult road games left, save for a trip to Happy Valley. Outside of a game versus Ohio State in the Barn, and after Illinois drops out of the top 25 next week, they don't have any games against ranked teams left (home or away). Nolen may still be back in time for the BTT as well.
