All 10 and 1/2 minutes that Ricky was on stage for those that want to see what the fuss is about:

I enjoyed seeing him get killed in "V".

I certainly understand why some people don't find him funny. He's definitely a different kind of comedian.

a host like that is the only thing that makes those celebrity Jack-offs worth watching....kudos to him for a job well done.

I said earlier that I don't find what he did funny and I'll tell you why. ANYONE can create uncomfortable laughter by picking out someone's most vulnerable, sensitive spots and exposing them to public view. That doesn't take talent....only the balls to do it. I've been to several 'roasts' in my day, and quite frankly, I've seen rank amateurs out perform Gervais.
Sorry...not impressed. Robert Downey Jr was twice as funny in his short presentation than Gervais was the whole show.

the networks know that middle America has little interest in seeing a bunch of multimillionaires give themselves a collective televised circle jerk.....I mean, these are NOT the Oscars.

Ricky makes it at least a little bit more Bit more interesting....thought I admit I was in and out on the whole thing.

if not for him, I would have been watching a This Old House rerun or Sportscenter......the powers that be know that, do not kid yourselves.

He, um, wasn't in "V" or "V for Vendetta"?

I think the funniest thing was at the end when he was thanking everyone and thanked god for making him an atheist.

TO be quite honest..I have no idea who this guy is....or what or why he is even famous/what he does.

Did read that some were mad....and he put back in jokes they took out of his monologue when they first read it. He doesnt care....they look to use these award shows to make a splash..to make people know their name.(even if, like in my case, ya have no idea what he does.).
Kinda like that guy who did MTV awards...some foreigner.....forget his name and all......he made a splash and his name was over the airwaves for a bit for his over the top comments.

It helps them all get noticed i guess.

Gervais doesn't need help getting noticed.

I thought Gervais was hilarious. He made an otherwise boring award show quite entertaining. I also liked Robert Downey Jr.'s speech. I think there is a place for all types of humor.

Yes, like it as well. BBC has some great shows. I also love the Inbetweeners and one of my all time favs from BBC America was Trailer Park Boys which was out of Canada.
