I thought The Invention of Lying was a good concept and a very good movie!

Did read that some were mad....and he put back in jokes they took out of his monologue when they first read it. He doesnt care....they look to use these award shows to make a splash..to make people know their name.(even if, like in my case, ya have no idea what he does.).
Kinda like that guy who did MTV awards...some foreigner.....forget his name and all......he made a splash and his name was over the airwaves for a bit for his over the top comments.

It helps them all get noticed i guess.
Gervais is one of the most popular comedians out there. He has television specials pretty frequently and has been in a bunch of feature films. Plus the British "The Office" TV show. He doesn't need the Golden Globes help.

WEll..I cannot be the first person to never had heard of him before.

Whta I am saying is.......most can use more publicity and coming up with crude and "over the top" jokes on a national show like this can only spike the interest in him.

It was a good movie and definitely different than your normal romantic comedy crap (not real sure if Invention of Lying is a romantic comedy though, I guess it could be).

You probably aren't the only person, but Gervais didn't do it for the attention IMO, that's just his act.

Gervais was on Conan before hand and basically said he took the gig so he could give a big Fuck You to the stars lol. They took out his jokes after reading them, and he did them anyway. I love it.
