I have this friend, lets call him, annoyingvoice. He always did taxes on turbotax for free as it was always straight forward.

but..in 2010 he had a few significant changes that may change things.

1. He joined the army and completed BCT and AIT school in the states. Is there any breaks for that or does one get more of their tax money back?

2. Got married.

3. PUrchased a house. Did the first time home buyers tax credit already expire?

Is it time for this idiot friend of mine to have someone do it professionally or do ya think that turbotax, the free version, will still suffice and get his max refund?

TT will be fine for 2-3, but I don't know anything about 1. I'm not sure if the credit is still available, but it did ask me something about it when I just ran through mine.
