Happy??? MLK day. I don't see anything happy about today. I have to work, all the slackers have off.

This is a f'ing retarded 'holiday'.
And we celebrate it in the way most poor black people do, by not going to work.
I'm not entirely sure if I mean that or not. Its probably 60/40% I meant it.

I have always believed the day should have been honored as Civil Rights Day (not necessarily MLK day). I also believe school should be in session where our children can learn more about various civil rights leaders of the past and their achievements (both white and black civil rights leaders btw). It doesn't do anybody any good to be sitting around the house. It is not a holiday like Christmas or Thanksgiving where people travel from far away to have dinner or what have you.

I'm just asking, would you like to see the same for President's Day?

Yep. They're both really just a lame excuse for retailers to have a "3 day sale". This is where 2 of the extra 20 days the former governer wanted to add should come from.

Yes I do think students should be at school on President's Day. I can tell you I am at work on these days, so should everyone else.

From one of my favorite movies of all time:
Clarence: You know, Sweets, I met Dr. Martin Luther King once.
Sweets: You lyin'. You ain't never met Dr. Martin Luther King.
Clarence: Yeah, I met Dr. Martin Luther King in 1962 in Memphis, Tennessee. I walkin' down the street minding my own business, just walking on. Feelin' good. I walk around the corner, a man walk up, hit me in my chest, right. I fall on the ground, right. And I look up and it's Dr. Martin Luther King. I said 'Dr. King?' and he said 'Ooops, I thought you were some body else.'
Sweets: Oh man, you lyin'. You ain't never met Martin Luther the King.
Clarence: Knocked the wind out of me, yes he did.
Sweets: No, he didn't.
Clarence: Yes, he did.
Sweets: No, he did not!
