The Jets have been largely irrelevant for decades, wallowing in mediocrity. Rex changed the culture and has immediately turned them into an elite team (yes, they are elite) in the NFL. I understand that you Steelers fans don't understand what it's like to root for a shitty franchise so you have no idea where I am coming from.

But he gave this team a fucking identity and has taken them to back-to-back AFC championships in his first two seasons with a rookie and second year QB. I wouldn't trade him for any other coach in the NFL.
But geez, if you are going to end the Patriots season, you also have to beat the Steelers

Steelers played Tressel ball the entire second half until the 3rd down conversion that sealed the game. They were lucky to win, but they won.

No, they weren't lucky. They did enough in the first half to win and deserved it.

I will never say a negative thing (other than joking foot-love comments) about Rex Ryan. The Jets have become a regular presence in the AFC Championship game because they feed into his "US AGAINST THE WORLD" deal. If anything, his big fuck-up was being polite and respectful around the Steelers. His team seemed to react to Pittsburgh instead of making them react to them in the first half. They fought their asses off in the second half, but couldn't overcome the hole that first half put them in. But I love Rex. He's the sort of motivating coach that guys will run through a brick wall for. They were down 24-0 at one point and 24-3 at the half. They made it scary because he's given them a "fuck this...we WILL win!" mentality.
He's turned the Jets from a mediocre team to a big contender...mostly due to the mentality he's pushed on them. I think he stumbled by not treating Pittsburgh openly like a personal challenge. I think he'll learn by that.

I'm not sure, I've been too busy worrying about the playoffs to pay attention to that offseason stuff just yet. I guess I'll get started on the offseason tomorrow.

Haha thank man. Congrats to your Jets on making back to back AFC title games even though they lost both that's still a huge deal in the NFL.

As a Steelers fan who also is a Pirates fan, I know what you're saying. I'd love the Pirates to be like their 70s cokehead group whose "WE ARE FAMILY" wins games. Win how you win. Lose how you lose. The only thing that matters is the final score. Asshole-ish or not, the Jets win and have become great. Not great enough for the Super Bowl, but they're on the verge...and considering Pittsburgh's last two Super Bowl trips have led to a non-playoff season, they have to look like a top contender next year.

So can you because I don't think you will be out preparing with "the big boys". If you really want to help your steelers you can go stock up on some roofies for big ben so he can have some unconscious chicks to take advantage of in the offseason.

It didn't hurt that they signed a few free agents and raped the Steelers in the Holmes trade. He's turned the Jets from a mediocre team to a big contender
