That blog is a riot. I like the subtle CPA form offer that reads "Protecting You Is Our #1 Job." If you hover over it, it's even from the "BlogAds" domain.
Gotta admit, though ... hot button political movements are the easiest to profit from, as people's emotions will make them do crazy things.

Looks like Kasick just spent 8 million of our tax dollars so one of his rich CEO buddies doesn’t have as much of a commute from his home. The bus is running over a lot of fools.

For a company that made last year over $1,700,000,000 in sales and made $70,000,000 in profits, you’d think they could handle their own move.
We can find $8 million to relocate 350 jobs in Ohio, but Kasich concluded that we couldn’t afford the 3C passenger rail system that even conservative estimates said wouldn’t need any state funding until 2017 and the most conservative estimate was it would create 4,000 jobs (other estimates had it over 10,000)?
Here’s what the Dispatch reported the State is committing or had indicated it would likely commit to do:
Bob Evans was offered an incentive package from the state that includes: a Research and Development Investment Loan of $3 million; a Ohio Job Creation Tax Credit of $2.4 million; a Research and Development Investment Tax Credit of $1.05 million; a Roadwork Development (629) Account (to the City of Columbus) for $750,000; a Rapid Outreach Grant for $250,000 and an Ohio Workforce Guarantee of $250,000, said Bethany McCorkle, development spokeswoman.

Wow, you really do quote that blog a ton.
I do think, if the circumstances surrounding this are completely as the blog states (which I doubt), that this was a ridiculous waste of money. However, I'd like to hear why Bob Evan's needed to move ... and why Kasich thought it was a good investment. I'm skeptical, but before I make a judgment, I'm curious what the rationalization was.

I would like to see the math and see how long it takes Bob Evans to pay that money back in taxes vs if they had left for another state.
If it's < 5 years, I would say it is a good investment

Like I said, as it turns out, one of the main contributing writers is someone that is really close to me. Knowing him, I don't put too much stock into that blog.

Lets pretend that you are right and they did get a better offer although I have yet to see it. Are you in favor of corporations being able to hold states for ransom (and in this case regions) for who going to give the best bribe? You don't think Texas would have matched that offer we made them?

There's no reason that states should not have to complete for employers. In fact, economic growth is a primary role of state government.

For-profit companies, by definition, are about generating dollars and cents at the end of the day. Thus, the most base decision for a company would be one that makes them money. As such, moving to Texas would have made a lot of sense. It's not a proven motive, but it's a motive with evidence to back up its validity.
Far more than some asinine claim about it having anything to do with commute time, which has zero evidence, and should then be given zero credibility.

If Bob Evan's wants a new location, then they can pay for it. If they have to move to do that, it sucks for Ohio (lost jobs), but that's life.

Still, I don't think government should be "investing" into private industry in the way Kasich did in this instance.
