Yes, I've seen him do that too. I don't think redshirts count for 5th or 6th (medical waiver) years. Florida is lower than I thought at 93, for the reasons I gave plus guys going pro early. One guy should have been medical hardship, but he gutted it out. Barely saw the field, but I admire his effort. Brandon Antwine, has all kinds of injuries the worst being a bad back. David Young is having another surgery, may be career ending. Patchan never played last year, had a secret arm injury, was week to week the whole season. 2 freshman quit during August camp, a 5 star WR freshman (Dowling) was booted out the door by Meyer for not going to class and showing an attitude. And after '09 the 5 juniors who went pro...Now since OSU is stealing a recruit or 2, UF will probably only sign about 20 total next week.

Decoding Nick Saban's surprising diatribe in defense of oversigning

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/stewart_mandel/02/04/saban-oversigning/index.html
By "not able to continue to play," Saban is referring to players who have suffered injuries so severe they might be granted medical hardships. Those players maintain their scholarships to the school but are no longer part of the team. Saban has done this with at least 12 players during his four years in Tuscaloosa, which raises red flags considering Ohio State's Jim Tressel, for example, has placed just four players on hardship scholarships in his entire 10-year tenure. Do Alabama players suffer debilitating injuries at a far greater rate than Ohio State players? Not likely.

Good article with interview of Gerry DiNardo...who coached in both SEC and Big Ten 10.
