Been using the MACH series for years and years now. Middle of december i switched ot the schick hydra 3 just to test it out as was disappointed in the MACH and the cost is outrageous.

...and wow...the schick hydra shaves closer, smoother and the blade is at three weeks old and still doing great.

and to top it off....at the grocery last night i was curious if they carried the replacement blades for it.....and they do....for 7 dollars LESS for a the same pack of four that MACH uses.

I recommend it!

What you all use?

I use the hydro as well, its decent though not amazing. I get complaints as soon as 4 hours later, though I can grow a thick manly beard in about a week so I know I'll never find the "perfect" razor.

I don't shave often but I use a safety razor when I do. A single blade and it blows all of the 3 and 4 blade razors away.

One of these days I'll move up to the straight razor.

I just use a beard and mustache trimmer. Don't like to be clean shaven, and sure as hell don't want to spend the money to do so.

Man up .... I use a Straight Razor when I want a clean and close shaver. If I'm in a hurry Bic cheap razor in the shower or a quick dry shave sometimes... throw away after three usages

Never tried...but maybe I will. I feel I am skilled enough to not cut myself....much

Electric razor in the morning, Gillette Fusion ProGuide before air time.

I hate having to be shaven for work.

Safety razor. Better shave, lasts longer, and much cheaper.

I assume you use a badger brush as well? What kind of shaving cream do you use?

Lately I've just been using a canned cream that my sister bought me to be honest. Not ideal but I have it so I might as well use it.

I bought some stuff from Bath & Body Works. It was a green tube and I believe the brand is C.O. Bigelow. It is incredible. I'd highly recommend picking some up if you're near a Bath & Body Works.

No way I would use a safety razor/straight razor on my dome!!! I will fillet my head. Perhaps my face I would try. I use the fusions.

That is exactly the same shit my sister bought me.

It is pretty great as far as canned stuff goes. I've always preferred the soap+hot water+cup method but rarely get around to doing it or I somehow ruin the soap and end up buying some canned stuff.

But the Bigelow stuff is the best canned cream I've used.

Hydro 5 blade. Used to use a Mach 3 forever but I can't find the shave gel they made for it. I know it was probably marketing but it seemed like that razor and gel worked perfect together.

I'm interested in a safety razor, I'm tried of my neck bleeding like crazy and the shave sucking. How brand do you guys use, and what other tips for the switch over do you have? I saw someone mentioned a badger brush? Why wouldn't normal shaving cream work?

If you think you cut yourself with a regular razor be prepared for the safety razor if you don't know what you are doing.
