I didn't think the cavs would be this horrible this year. Might be a blessing in disguise though being in the running for the number 1 pick.

Hickson not seeing the floor tonight, must have gotten in trouble with the coaches or something again. To say he's been frustrating this season would be an understatement.

This makes zero sense. There was just an article a couple days ago that these guys have put their differences behind them. It sounded like Scott and JJ were ready to move forward.

I wonder if there is something else behind this? Could JJ be getting shipped out soon?

JJ has all the physical tools/talent... What he lacks is mental toughness/intelligence.

He's got a very weak psyche. Having the right mentality is detrimental to taking the next step in your career.

Cavs are making a strong case for being the worst team in the association.

JJ skipped out on a mandatory practice and thus was benched for the game against the Raptors.

How dumb can you be? I mean skipping "voluntary" stuff is one thing, but when it is truly mandatory thing you better have your ass there.

Oh and he is on arguably the worst team in the League, does he not thing practice would be a good thing? SMH

JJ has really been a big BITCH this season.

He started off great and looked to be turning into the player the Cavs and all of us had hoped... Then he just fell off. After a couple of subpar games, Byron Scott called him out and told him he needed to get it going and pick up the offense.

Instead of taking it as a challenge, he cried about it. I seriously don't get how certain players/athletes can be so mentally weak.

JJ has been confusing to me this season. He had every chance to come in and play hard and basically be the face of the team. Talk about blowing it. I wasn't able to see the game tonight, how did Kid Congo look?

Kid Congo looked pretty good. He had 16 points. His jumper needs a little work but hes quick as hell and he can get off the floor in a hurry.

I saw that JJ missed a practice. What a dumbass. I was wondering what the deal was, that info didnt come out until after the game.

Anyways, looks like the trade rumors are starting to get going again.

I looked up the NBA standings last night and saw they were 8-26. Mind-boggling considering they were near .500 around 15 games into the season. After that first game against Miami, it's like they just stopped competing. Coming into that game, they looked like the sort of perfectly mediocre team that could beat the bad teams, wouldn't have the manpower to challenge the top squads and were a likely fit to compete for the #7-8 seed with the sub-.500s currently holding those spots.

Then came the Miami debacle that led them into a downward spiral. I think they've only won once since then and, a lot of times, aren't even particularly competitive. Like last night. Jump out to a big lead, Toronto comes back to take the lead before halftime and then gradually pulls away throughout the second half to win by 15. It's like they went from a mediocre team with enough heart and ability to be a level or two above the dregs of the league to becoming the Washington Generals overnight.

Hickson was supposed to be an All Star this year, right?

Hickson is another guy that benefited greatly playing alongside Lebron, because he had someone who could create for him. He's not a guy that is going to score in the half court with his back to the basket. But get him someone who can create for him and he can be highly effective. He's just a bad fit right now and I think people expected way too much from him.

Wonder if/how much his trade value has decreased this year? Sounded like there were a few teams pretty high on him last year.

duh, the team was built around lebron. imo, there is talent there, we just need a guy that can create something.

Who the fuck said that JJ Hickson was going to be an All-star?

I think alot of Cavs fans thought he would improve this year. He has shown signs that he might be able to turn it around and become a very solid basketball player, he needs to grow up. Missing practices and sitting out games isnt going to help the kid develop.

How many players benefited from playing next to Jordan, Kobe, Durant, Howard, etc........thats what superstars do, they make the people around them better. This shouldnt be surprising

There were a couple people on here who predicted Hickson to be an All Star this year.

You can't compare playing alongside those guys with Lebron. Lebron is much more of a creator for teammates than any of those guys. Not even sure if you thought before saying that?

Please tell us who said JJ was going to be an all star, after knowing the fact LeBron is gone.

Without Lebron this year: 10.4 ppg, 5.1 rpg

Don't confuse statistics with production and efficiency.

He's playing 2 more minutes a game is shooting 10% lower and .8 more TO's a game.
