If Fickell doesn't change Bollman's OL recruiting strategy, then he's as big an idiot as Tressel was on this issue. Ohio State should have a much better record of recruiting and developing linemen than it does...and that comes back to Bollman and his silly notion of how limited he keeps recruiting.

The only bright spot of this whole fiasco could possibly be getting read of Bollman. That guy has had so much talent and can only produce an average line at best.

The more I read about 2012 OLB Josh Perry, the more I like about him. He was observed openly recruiting other prospects this past weekend at camp. He also measured in at 6"4.5" and 240lbs. Oh ya, he also ran a 4.54 40 yard dash. A tremendous athlete.

Well, we know he can play.

But can he coach?

If this is true, I guess we'll find out.

Recruiting is getting suspect IMO. Just offered 2 star Luke Roberts out of Lancaster a LB and have not had any new OL offers. The OL MVP at the last camp is a huge buckeye fan and no offer. He has a great offer list.

Makes no sense at all. Adam Pankey (OL) has said he grew up an OSU fan and an offer would make OSU his leader. Still no offer.

As far as Kozan goes, I'm dumbfounded. No clue what OSU is doing in regards to OL offers. Still no offer to Davidson, either.

I don't know who Pankey or Kozan are, but does OSU currently have offers out to and interest from more highly rated OL recruits? They can't just throw out offers, especially to the guys that will commit on the spot if they are in the mix for elite recruits.

Kozan is pretty highly rated (http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Alex-Kozan-116575). I don't think that would be just "throwing out an offer." Davidson, too (http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Nick-Davidson-113953).

Pankey is not rated as high, but is starting to pick up interest. And most OSU fans know the Dodson debacle, so it's understandable to get frustrated.

Like I said I didn't know those guy's rankings. How many total OL offers do they have out? The recruits that are huge OSU fans will wait around for that offer no matter how long it takes. As long as the coaches keep in contact with them there isn't really a problem with holding the offer for a while.

I guess I don't see the point in waiting for guys like Kozan and Davidson (and Dodson). There is no benefit. Meanwhile, OSU is extending offers to guys like Luke Roberts, who would probably commit on the spot if offered on NSD. OL is definitely a position of need, but the staff isn't really acting like it.

read on another site that bollman has pretty much packed it in and is done. Dont know how true this is or if it will effect the coaching or playcalling duties. Maybe this explains why there hasnt been much OL recruiting . If this is true i would get rid of him and hire Bentley

I'd be offering Kozan yesterday.

I very much doubt this is true. If it were, Fickell would have replaced him ASAP. It's not Bollman's future career as a head coach on the line if this gets screwed up.

Sadly, this cluster phuck up way of recruiting OL is not unusual for OSU under Bollman. It's why OSU has never seemed to have enough OL during his tenure, and why of all the positions at Ohio State OL is the one that has most consistently been an "issue" for the team. I was hoping that with JT gone, things might change for the better...but so far that isn't happening, apparently.

Luke Roberts LB from Lancaster got offered today. Presumably a camp offer, hopefully Kozan gets his ASAP.

Adolphos Washington does not have OSU in his top 5. His teamate Stafford has liked us all along but has been trying to get Adolphos to visit OSU with him with no success yet.
