How long until someone writes a book/makes a movie about this guy? The Dispatch has an updated article on their website now, and he basically says that in the past, with all this pressure and stress he would have sought a drink, but not now.

He continues to say that he hopes for a job that pays $18,000/year and an apartment so he can cook for himself.

Really an inspirational story, and as much as I dislike the Columbus Dispatch I give them credit for getting this guy noticed.

This man deserves a job and a second chance. It goes to show how one minute you can be on top of the world and the next homeless and in need of help. Good luck to him.

I was stuck listening to him this morning on WNCI at 7:05 am....couldn't stop listening to his story...though not all parts are great.

He has 9 kids and was a former jazz radio dj. Lost his job to drugs and beyond.....was drying up his kids lives with his habits and went to the streets.

This guy is going to be around for a bit. NFL Films?

So I guess Dan Gilbert not only gave him a job, but also bought him a house to go along with it.

just saw him on the Today Show - he looks like he was either really nervous (totally possible) or has some residual shakes from the drug abuse. either way, I really hope he isn't taken advantage of and stays clean, because the future for once seems bright for this guy, and I hope he makes the most of it.

His interview is on the Today show's website now. It has to be unreal to go from begging on the street living under a bush to having everyone and their brother offering jobs and so on to you. 11 million hits in 3 days on youtube has to be some kind of record.

Here is one thing I don't get. Why didn't they dress him up for the today show? Why still the camo jacket? It's like their making the fact that he was homeless a novelty. That's just the way it came across to me.

Yeah that thing had to be pretty ripe too. Or maybe it was a new camo jacket?

He could wear the camo jacket for a number of reasons. Maybe they are doing it for dramatic effect. Maybe he will continue to wear it to remind him of where he came from and the difficulties he faced. Sometimes people like to keep a reminder of the tough times to maintain perspective during the good times. Either way, I hope he continues to turn his life around and does not relapse into his old ways.
