My family has had a rough couple weeks. I had a great-uncle pass away a few weeks ago, and last night, a cousin was killed in an automobile accident. Her child was transported via Life Flight to a Columbus hospital in critical condition. It's a strong reminder that your not promised tomorrow.

Prayers for you and all of your family. It's even worse when tragedy strikes around the holidays.

Just got word that the daughter is out of the coma(medically induced). Unfortunately, she is now a 14 year old girl, w/ no living parents.

dlazz, there's a time and a place for the grammar police, and a thread like this isn't either one.

se-alum, wonderful news on the condition of your cousin but terrible that she is now an orphan. I hope someone in her family can take her in. She's been through enough without having to endure the foster care system. I will certainly continue to pray for your family.

Instead of doing something worthless like praying, how about doing something useful like starting a fund for the parentless girl? Certainly I doubt she can afford all of the medical bills that she is going to encounter.

dlazz - that's a great idea. I'm sure the family would be most grateful for any assistance they could get to help with medical bills, etc.

I think she will be ok as far as that goes. She has good people on both sides of her family, so I'm sure someone will be willing to take her in.

just curious, but when you all *send prayers* do you say...

"i pray for se-alum, the poster from the freehuddle.com serious business forum's, family"

or how does this e-prayer thing actually work...

...ill hang up and listen.

I get that you guys don't believe in prayer, and I respect that, but why do you feel a need to post on a thread asking for prayer, if you don't believe in it?

i was just asking a question...

why would one ask for prayers from random people on a message board?

and what do those random people on a message board pray for when they pray for said person who asked for said prayers?

Because there is Victory In Jesus!
learn it live it love it

*EDIT
No, actually it's because alot of people do have faith. And it doesn't hurt to pray. If prayer does work, like many believe it does, than there is even more safety in numbers. It doesn't matter if the people praying are known to you or not.

Why do you feel the need to ask strangers for prayer? People have enough stuff in their lives to worry about.

You don't have to personally know someone to pray for them.
