It seemed many big pass plays I Elam couldn't make the play, got beat or was out of position last year. I just seemed to notice him in that way more than anyone last year. But it is hard to say that anyone would have made those plays last year because many were on all out blitzes on 3rd down by Ryan.

If we draft a cb in Peterson or Amukamara, then we would see brown move to the other safety opposite of ward.

I would try to keep Evan Moore and Eric Wright. I know Wright wasn't very good last year, but I think he could be a good nickel.

Next question....as of today, you're on the clock at #6 (no trade downs)....who do you pick?

Found on WalterFootbal.com:
Season Summary:
The Browns won five games in 2010 - just as they did in 2009. However, progress was made. They may have found a franchise quarterback in Colt McCoy, while Eric Mangini was finally let go. LeBron may have left the city of Cleveland, but at least the Browns' future is bright.
Offseason Moves:
Browns cut DT Shaun Rogers
Browns cut OT John St. Clair
Browns cut ILB Eric Barton
Browns cut TE Robert Royal
Browns cut DE/OLB David Bowens
Browns cut DE/DT Kenyon Coleman
Offseason Needs:
Wide Receiver: The Browns need to find a play-maker for Colt McCoy. Julio Jones will be considered at No. 6 overall, but Cleveland will likely take a wideout in Rounds 2-3. They'd love to get A.J. Green, but he probably won't make it past the Bengals.
Right Tackle: The Tony Pashos signing was a mistake. Both he and John St. Clair struggled at right tackle in 2010. The Browns cannot afford to have Colt McCoy beaten down like he was in the season finale.
Defensive Tackle: Marcell Dareus is still an option amid Cleveland's switch to the 4-3. Shaun Rogers and Kenyon Coleman have been released.
Defensive End: Who is going to play defensive end for the Browns now that they've switched to the 4-3? Robert Quinn is definitely an option with the sixth pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
Weakside Linebacker: The Eagles learned that Chris Gocong can't play in the 4-3. It's a shame for Gocong because he had an exceptional season in 2010.
Cornerback: Joe Haden had a great rookie year. Unfortunately, Eric Wright regressed. There will be plenty of corners to choose from on Day 2.
Right Guard: Pork Chop Womack is a free agent, but the Browns needed an upgrade anyway. Shawn Lauavo clearly isn't the answer. There will be plenty of guard prospects in the middle rounds.
Strong Safety: Abram Elam is a free agent, but he's not a very good player. However, with so many needs, the Browns may just retain Elam and take a late-round flier on a strong safety.
Kicker: Phil Dawson probably won't be back next year. Cleveland will have to find a new kicker for the first time in its new franchise history.

Da'Qaun Bowers, Patrick Peterson, Von Miller in that order and whichever is available.

I don't get this "Shawn Lauavo clearly isn't the answer" statement. The guy was injured early on. I believe they are expecting him to step up as the RG.
I don't think they'll take AJ Green. With ALL of the defensive talent at the top of this draft, they'd better not take a WR at #6. I'd still rather see Hankerson with their 2nd rounder.

I just think he is that good....a playmaker that you cannot pass on. But you are probably right...they will go defense.

I'll be pissed if they go offense at #6. There are plenty of playmakers to be had in the second.

+100
We need defense with that first pick.

I saw "bleacher report" and didn't bother reading it. Sorry, but that site carries no credibility with me at all.
I expect and HOPE they go defense as well.

I wouldn't mind seeing them target Ray Edwards (DE-Vikings) in FA. Edwards has had 16.5 sacks combined in the last 2 seasons and is still young at 26.
With the Vikes franchising Greenway and supposedly going to put the transition tag on Sidney Rice, I don't think they will be able to keep all of their studs.

Edwards was on an NFL podcast last week and they asked him about Cincinnati and he said he'd love to be able to go back and play in his hometown. Take it for what its worth.

Bet he would. Money talks and I don't see Mike Brown getting into any bidding wars nor do I see a free agent in the prime of his career giving out any hometown discounts.

I'm taking AJ Green with the 6th pick...normally I say go defense, but they need that big time WR...i'm sick of our offense banking on 2nd round receivers.

They should go D, running the WCO the need for a stretch guy with a high dollar contract becomes a little less of a priority.

Exactly and I've seen a few analysts say that AJ Green may not be a good fit for the WCO.

Looks like DeAngelo Williams also didn't get the franchise tag. I thought that was interesting.

They're pretty confident that Jonathan Stewart, Mike Goodson, and Tyrell Sutton are a good stable of RB's.

No thanks on DeAngelo...we don't need anymore injury prone RBs
