LOL...cracks me up how fellow Cleveland fans get so emotionally attached to a player (McCoy, Hillis, Cribbs). McCoy sucks people...

Reading Bruce Arians comments about the 2002 playoff game against the Steelers tonight made me sick. You can tell he's still really bitter about what Butch Davis pulled that day.

Davis panicked like a little bitch...firing Foge Fazio and going into a prevent.

Pretty much what Arians said. He said they should have been blitzing the hell out of Tommy Maddux. Instead Foge wasn't allowed to call the game and they went prevent and got burned. Fuckin Butch Davis.

Yep. Defense was effective in the first half and then Davis' nuts shriveled up and disappeared.

If I had a list of people associated with the Browns that I could sucker punch not including Art Modell, Botch Davis would be near the top of the list.

At least he gave the Browns their one playoff appearance since coming back.

I've said this before, and not that it's saying much, but Butch Davis was the best coach the Browns have had since the return. Just a piss poor talent evaluator. Damn Andra Davis...;)

I agree with McCoy not being good enough to start for this team going forward. Disagree with Hillis and Cribbs.

My point is that all three are easily replaceable but Cleveland fans get way too attached to them like they are all world.

Hillis could be easily replaced in the draft or by signing a Michael Bush in free agency. There are return guys on the roster (Skrine) who have more explosion than Cribbs or a dual threat, like the corner from LSU who is also a return specialist, could be grabbed in the draft. And McCoy? Very easily replaced.

My comment has nothing to do with being attached to McCoy or any player. I'm willing to let the whole team go if it brings a winner. I was just putting in perspective the comments of a writer who has, in the past, deliberately taken the opposite view just to create controversy. I wouldn't trust him or any other PD writer or editor as far as I could throw them.

When's Livingston's article about Pat Shurmur showing something coming out?

The way the Cleveland media has carried his water because Mike Holmgren gave him a stamp of approval is utterly disgusting.

They used to Savage Mangini and his caveman style, but that regime looks like Bill fucking Walsh offensively compared to the turds Shurmur squeezes out on a weekly basis.

Where is the reporting and focus on that? Why are he and Holmgren getting a free pass when there are so many other teams in the league improvising and finding ways to make things happen. Why is it only OK to wallow in Cleveland instead of finding a way to make your system work with what you have to work with.

Heckert is a good talent evaluator, but the Holmgren regime is failing at every turn and I wish we could get some media types to start holding these failures accountable.

Whoa, slow down. I think you're losing focus on just how bad the team was under Erica Womangini. I will take Shurmur and McCoy over Womangini and his 1-11 season any day of the week.

Slight difference. Mangini and his Gestapo tactics had Berea on lockdown from the media so the media bashed him. Holmgren's regime makes Patty Boy the "face of the franchise" and pushes him out there to the media 2-3 times per week. Media doesn't want to bite the hand who feeds it or they may lose access to Berea so they don't bash Shurmur as much. Patty is kind of a "sensitive" guy. See how that works?

Being Steeler week, there's a thread running over on the OBR about the Steeler/Buckeye "fans" and their frontrunning/bandwagoning nature. I'm cutting and pasting a quote from a poster to signify a perfect example of this. Read the very last sentence...

"My barber golfs with a guy who wears an Ohio State hat and has Steeler club covers. My barber asked him "let me ask you something.....if you cheer for the Steelers, why don't you cheer for Penn State?" The guy replied "because I only root for winners."

And that pretty much sums up all Steelers fans in Ohio.

Does anyone else find it funny how outgoing and personable Magini is on ESPN (both TV and radio).

Cribbs said he was a "very nice guy' and I believe Mangini befriended a dying child in the Canal Fulton area so he's not ALL bad. Just a dick as a coach it sounds like.

God...people have forgotten how bad Mangini was. He wasn't the answer and Shurmur, early on, sure as Hell looks like he isn't either. It's like saying "would you rather eat your turd with peanuts or corn in it?" Either way, you're still eating a turd.

I haven't forgotten anything. it's my opinion on the matter. quit getting your panties in a bunch. at this point, i would much rather have mangini with a good offensive coordinator than derpmur at this present moment. derpmur hasn't shown me anything that says he is better than mangini.

Daboll? Because that's likely what we'd be looking at.

there was at least identity on offense. What's our identity this year? short passes, with no points scored.
