Sports reporters on ESPN blamed Manning for the loss. Apparently I wasn't watching the same game.

You have to be kidding me....Manning didn't have a HUGH statistical game but was efficient. He wasn't the guy that decided to run Dominic Rhodes 14 times or make a futile review challenge. Jim Caldwell is the guy to blame on the Colts side. He's in over his head as a HC. I know he's Tony Dungy's guy but the Colts are hamstrung with him. They are wasting their Peyton Manning years. That third down run was one of the nuttiest play calls I've seen, and the challenge was unfathomably stupid. And why the timeout at the end?

When you have Manning it doesn't take much to get back into contention.
But the Colts will need to fill some holes or they might be slipping in the AFC.
They had a lot of injuries this year but it seems like every year they're trying to play without Bob Sanders and patch together a run defense.
They either need to draft another safety and prepare to play without Sanders or a good run stuffer at defensive tackle, maybe both.

Braylon's catch is about the 6:30 mark. Not a push off. The defender's momentum took him past Braylon. Braylon had his hand on him but he clearly didn't shove him away.

Jim Caldwell needs to be fired. What kind of idiot calls a TO when the kicker is 5/11 from over 40 yards...let alone 50? (not to mention Ive hated him since the beginning, and think he is wasting Peytons last 3/4 years).
As for the game, well I was working till the 4th quarter so I cant say anything really. But I thought Peyton should have run the ball at the end and forced the Jets to use a second TO, but he has never been a guy to do that. He goes for the win, sometimes throwing it all 3 times. Who are we to question the success hes had with going for the jugular? You also cant blame him for the hurry up, you never know when you are going to need the time (when you arent in FG range, which is when the hurry up was being utilized the most).
In general, from reading about the game and watching the DVR but not really paying much attention, Jim Caldwell needs to be fired. That timeout (by the percentages of Folk) cost the Colts the game. MAYBE Rex Ryan goes to the air for 15+ yards, but I highly doubt it. Id guess the ball wouldve been snapped with around 15 seconds left, enough for a single play and timeout and FG.

Nice article about the time out called by Caldwell. I lol'd when I saw Manning's expression on the sideline.

Yeah, there is no denying Caldwell is a bumbling idiot as a head coach. I thought Rex had clock management issues but he was surprisingly good with the clock this weekend. Nothing he has ever done has compared to Caldwell's idiocy, though.

Caldwell obviously benefited from being boys with Dungy. Dude looks like he is dead on the sideline sometimes. I don't think they are really in a position to fire him due to the success that the team has had, but I don't think it would be a bad thing if they fired him

They should fire Caldwell and hire a guy like Ron Rivera as head coach.
They don't need anyone to coach the offense anyway, just make the defense great.

Normally I would agree that a coach with his success should not be fired. However, if Caldwell got the axe I don't think anyone would be too upset. Everyone knows he is riding Dungy's coat tails and if not for Peyton Manning, this team would be lucky to be .500.

I cant find a single colts fan who doesn't want the guy gone. Though, over half didn't want him to begin with.

I just read that article, too. I remember watching the game and just being like, "WTF?!?? He's just given the Jets time to draw up a play to make it a lot closer of a field goal!!!" And Manning's expression was priceless. This combination of confusion, anger and despair.
