Yeah PTI said the endowment figures were out of this world... they just refuse to spend it all on athletics.

Thought this was funny:
Jim Harbaugh is highly unlikely to accept the Michigan football coaching job if it becomes available, a person with direct knowledge of Harbaugh’s thinking told the Free Press.

Sorry, but the only person with "direct knowledge of Harbaugh's thinking" is Jim Harbaugh. Unless he told someone, in which case that person would have direct knowledge of an actual statement. I think he can do better than Michigan, unless he wants the satisfaction of reviving his alma mater and restoring them to respectability.

As a Buckeye fan, Harbaugh's probably the last guy I'd want to see coach U-M.

The michigan job is going to go away, but the NFL won't?

What he's saying is, there will ALWAYS be openings in the NFL, but Michigan may not always have that opening to take advantage of.

Defensively they are a trainwreck. Too much blame being placed on Greg Robinson, IMO.

Buddy Ryan, Marvin Lewis, and the best D-coordinator currently in the NFL couldn't put a good D on the field with those players.

Okay that makes sense.

well theres 32 teams in the nfl and only one michigan. somebody could go into michigan and turn that around and then the michigan would go away but every year the nfl has at least 4-5 teams that change coaches. hence the nfl will always be there while the michigan job may not open up again

LOL. There are 32 jobs in the NFL. There is one head coaching gig at the U of M. Thus, he will have plenty of opportunities to coach in the NFL, but he may not get another chance at Michigan for some time (if they hit a HR with their hire).

michigan would have to pony up some ridiculous cash to land him. i'd say he's worth it but they'll struggle for a few years getting his guys in and RR's guys out. michigan has proven to be quite impatient with this.

Yeah that's why I kind of wonder what kinds of things he'd do in the mean time. Would he keep Denard? Or would he run him off like Rich Rod did with Mallett?

If I were Harbaugh, I'd take Luck and head to Carolina, if they want him.

Exactly. While he's a UM alum, he also spent a lot of time in the NFL. He has enough experience at both levels to know what he is getting into and what he wants. It's hard to call him stupid either way.

Ya think? Since Rich Rod has been there, each big ten school has the following number of big ten wins:

Ohio State - 21
Michigan State - 17
Wisconsin - 15
Iowa - 15
Penn State - 17
Northwestern - 13
Illinois - 9
Minnesota - 8
Purdue - 8
Michigan - 6
Indiana - 3

They are terrible. They may have improved a little this year, but not much and I wouldn't blame them for making a change.
