Louis Nix, ranked the #8 best DT according to ESPNU's Scouts Inc and 99th best recruit overall, verbally committed today to Notre Dame.
Is this the first time that an elite recruit committed to a school without knowing who his head coach would be? Or maybe Nix knows something we don't!

Sad to think this talented player wil never win a BCS bowl game.

Did you pull your head out of your ass for that post or is it still shoved firmly up there from the JJ days?
Jesus, over 1,000 posts of pure garbage.

Seems odd to verbal without waiting to see who the coach will be.
I'm sure the new coach will be glad to have him.

Why do O$U fans even run their mouth's about BCS games? When was the last time they won one? Before some of you start with "when did UM last beat O$U?" or "When did UM last win a bcs game?" I know its been awhile for them to but you don't see UM fans running their mouths. But Chris Martin decommitted apparently, so Notre Dame is breaking even.

Mr. Martin seems like a very smart person.
I wonder where he will end up?

He was on the fence all season anyway, he's the first commit I thought would bounce.

Well, maybe he'll go to the Cowboys so he can never win a playoff game...

Chris Martin said he is still going to consider ND and will wait to talk to the new coach before he makes his decision.

I read that and think Martin still commits when it comes down to it. He likes the attention he's getting right now.karen lotz wrote: Chris Martin said he is still going to consider ND and will wait to talk to the new coach before he makes his decision.

I've never been sold on his commitment, even when Weis was around (it's so strange to say that). I hope he recommits, he's a stud.

He's actually had a pretty good year. Hard to get a full time roll as a starting running back as a rookie in the NFL. Splitting carries with Hightower is also not an insult.karen lotz wrote:splitting carries with Tim Hightowersjmvsfscs08 wrote:Where's Chris Wells when you need him?newarkcatholicfan wrote: Sad to think this talented player wil never win a BCS bowl game.
So overall, I grade your post an F.

Won one last year. Despite the low prestige it is still a bowl win and feels good to be off that bowl losing streak!

Who says I was insulting? I was simply answering a question. Don't be so sensitive.SportsAndLadies wrote:He's actually had a pretty good year. Well now that the quota for dumbass posts has been reached (thanks sleeper and NCF)...let me ask the question again.
Has a recruit ever committed to a school when the school did not have a headcoach in place? That's like accepting a job offer without ever meeting your manager. You have to believe that they told him who the next coach would be, and that make Nix very excited.

I don't know how it's possible being that the tradition and prestige of Notre Dame means nothing to kids these dayssherm03 wrote: Well now that the quota for dumbass posts has been reached (thanks sleeper and NCF)...let me ask the question again.

Couple that with the fact that Notre Dame isn't relevant and it's damn near impossible!Hamp89 wrote: I don't know how it's possible being that the tradition and prestige of Notre Dame means nothing to kids these days![]()

Martin had an official to Florida for the FSU game. Best game I could have asked for. The weather on Senior day, noise, cameras flashing on Tebow's last TD, a perfect day and evening enjoyed by 9 or 10 official recruits and close to 50 unofficial recruits. It was unforgettable.
