How IU played is exactly why you can NEVER take games for granted in this conference. How often is OSU going to shoot 13-19 on 3s, and 60 percent from elsewhere? If they had had an average shooting night for them, this would have been a battle to the final seconds.

This is a very good shooting team, but those numbers tonight were insane.

Exactly. Insane shooting numbers and you are going to have nights where nobody is hitting. Like you said if that had been the case they'd have been in a real battle. I thought the D played a little relaxed tonight. Not to mention those refs didn't let one single bit of contact go without calling a foul.

Well, on the flip side, how often is a team going to shoot as hot as Indy did against us tonight?

Shooting like that Indiana could have beat just about any other Big Ten team. Ohio State's 3-point shooting was unbelievable with this game being on the road. I have never seen or heard of a 3-point shooting game like that in an unfamiliar setting....unheard of. Buford, Diebler and Lighty have all had a shooting nights like that before but never all three at the same time.

Ohio State went 12-16 from 3 in the first half at Michigan during the 2005-2006 season. This game reminded me of that game. Ohio state then came out in the second half and shot 70% overall. Even with that insane shooting they only won by 9.

Same could be said for IU. They played, shot out of their ass. OSU defense wasn't very good...but IU hit some tough shots, deep 3's. I'd venture to say that IU played as well as they could have in this game.

Looking back at the game, I dont see Indiana playing much better the rest of the year.

Ohio State didn't make a basket the last 8 minuters of the game. Ohio State only made 7 of 13 free throws the last 8 minutes of the game. The first 32 minutes of the game Ohio State made 70% of their shots, 72% of their 3-pointers and 80% of their free throws. And this was a road game!?!

Indiana is bad, but man have you watched them at all this year? Theynwere good tonight, but nowhere near their best game of the season, and they will have better.

Both teams shot unreal, but osu was wide open because of ius pathetic zone. Iu actually shotmincredible as well, main,y watford. Hulls is shooting around 60% from 3 this year so that isn't a surprise.

lol..tipping the bottle a little last nite? ;) Sorry, IU won't play a better game IMO. Even Crean said he felt his team wasn't out of it the way the played...yet I don't believe they ever got it under double digits the second half. IU was in a no win situation. No way could they match up MM. So try the zone. Well, Buford and Diebler eyes lit up when they saw that obviously. Give IU credit though, again I thought they played very well and I am not sure I ever see a team play as hard as they do.

Sorry guys I haven't figured out typing on the ipad yet lol. Not drunk.

Again, I hate when a team goeszone if it isn't their primary defense. Its a sign of defeat and basically tells the opponent they cant beat us, and they know it. How many people loved in high school when a team came out in zone? You just got a little bit more confidence and usually shot well, at least I always did.....then when a team doesn't guardmout of the zone, well its a disaster.

As for iu, they are outmatched and offensively shot well...but that doesn't equal playing well. Very disappointed in watford not even scoring in first half(2 ft don't count) and extremely upset with how poor the guards played defensively.

Think what you will, and that was a very good game for iu, but you are all acting as if they haven't and won't again play well. Ive seen ever game they have played this year and they already have shown they can play better (they were better versus Kentucky) and I would be shocked if they don't play better in a a couple more games as well. The shooting they had was above average, but not insane. As I said hulls is at 60% from deep on the year and watford has hit 5 in a game a few times already as well.

As for the zone, its the fucking bigten... Come out like men and body someone up. If they dominate then adjust, don't be a pussy and concede from the start. You never know when you might get some calls early or the officials let you bang etc. Not to mention the best chance iu probably had was for sully to drop 40 and osu not hit/take many threes. If Buford or diebs got hot the game was over immediately. Best chance to stifle that scenario was m2m.

That's my thought, take from it what you will...but while iu is a bad team, they have and can play much better defense and can play that well offensively a good number of games as well.

Side note: osu is huge (I was first row). I love the make up of their team. A final four is never easy or a given...but I'd be shocked if they weren't in prime position anpd playing for that chance. They are as well rounded a team as here is in college ball and have length all over the court.
