Football is only two months away and I'm already getting excited. I'm not going to drive home like I did last year (2500 miles each way. That was awful!), but I do hope to fly home for a couple games. Big Red may in be somewhat of a rebuilding year, but I still think we will do well. Oh, well, even if I don't get to see all the games, I will definitely listen to them on the internet.

Yes, I did. Despite the score, I had a good time.

Didn't make it to last years game, but I do admit it was fun seeing big bad Massillon getting the shat knocked out them by the Red. There were some devastating hits laid on the tiggers in that Gm. Seeing those DI boys gimping around in a daze after getting their bells rung was worth every penny. They probably haven't been hit as hard as they were on that Gm before or since. Haha.

Most likely Marcus Prather.

Bet The Vest wishes he could have went with Zach. He was OSU worthy. I bet Zach rates higher by scouts right now then Pryor. Shaq Petteway, Nate Johnson both were OSU worthy. So yeah they have passed on SOME of our players. Especially Zach....only reason that OSU gave why they didn't offer was that Zach wanted to play both baseball and football.

The series is sure fun to watch. Hard hitting, fanatical fans and just a great atmosphere all around at both stadiums. Let's just hope it stays on the schedule through the coming years. RRR

I dont understand what Ohio state has against us ... All through history they let our best players go with a very few exceptions...I love Ohio state football but we have had many many players who could have started for them

Maybe they are still mad that Calvin Jones was supposed to go to Ohio State in 1952, but then at the last second kept driving and headed to Iowa, where he was a two time All American and Outland Trophy winner.
Seems like since then, we have sent players all over the country, but not many to OSU.

You can't blame Tressel for not taking Dwight Macon. Macon threw a tantrum in front of Tressel at the state final game in 2008. Reno never should have put up with that kind of behavior.

So I guess FSU should not have signed Nick O'Leary then based on your logic. No one mentioned Macon. As for Branko Busick. OSU was never in his mind. It was always WVU.

Snyds113-- If I come back to Steubenville this year to see some games, we will have to have that lunch that we were supposed to have last year. Last year you treated me like a king and I really do appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Just came accross your post. Calvin was going to Ohio State, but Ohio State would not take his pals Shags Gilliam and Punkin Vincent; Iowa did. That's why Calvin did not attend Ohio State.ManO'War;815086 wrote:Maybe they are still mad that Calvin Jones was supposed to go to Ohio State in 1952, but then at the last second kept driving and headed to Iowa, where he was a two time All American and Outland Trophy winner.

Noticed that a poster on another site said that Steubenville is now "OPEN" in Week 3 due to a cancellation by their Canadian opponent. Anything on that?
