Not great but not horrible, cleaned house with a few unwanted relationships and lost a family member and just in the last few days a friend of mine lost her 3 month old son so those parts sucked. On the other hand my wife got a new job that she loves and pays more and my kids are healthy and I did great in school while being a year closer to getting a piece of paper that says I can make more money.

The bad: Had a cardiac episode in June that shut me down for a week.
The good: A bit of minor cardiac surgery (oxymoron noted) and several weeks of rehab, and I'm good to go.

The bad: worst year of business in recent memory
The good: less consulting work means less time on airplanes, got through it without having to make any staffing or compensation cuts (except to the owner).

The great: celebrated our 20th anniversary.

A year with some rough spots, but looking forward to another year, God willing.

Bad: terrible family health year, between my wife and I we lost 3 grandparents (we no longer have any), and my mother had two catastrophic strokes that will likely render her no longer independent. Wife had two surgeries. Workwise economy is still struggling....if possible worse than '09.

Good: Wife's surgeries were successful. I dropped 25 lbs (in a good way, not a Christian Bale method-actor way) and ran a sub 38 minute 10K, wife ran her first competitive 5K and did better than expected. Good travel year, have been to places we would never have thought we'd travel to. Dog graduated from intermediate training and can walk off leash with us. Economy '11 can't get much worse, wife got promoted to director position and we're moving overseas in February. I'm making a more lateral movement but the international experience should help us when we decide to move back to the states.

A year filled with life is a good year. Good things happen. Bad things happen. But I WILL NOT let any amount of time in my life go by the wayside.

The Good: Great kids, still have a job, health is still good.

The Bad: Lost my mother, my wife & I separated (but no divorce being discussed), no bonus at work

Just another year.

in May someone hit me not quite head on, totaled my '08 FX150, my 10 yr old and I walked away, in September a deer came outa nowhere, and totaled my wifes '05 Taurus, nobody hurt, 2 weeks ago my soon to be 17 year old lost control on an icy Twp Rd while taking his younger brother to bball practice, took out a power pole and totaled his '00 GMC Sanoma.......but nobody was seriously hurt.

I could have lost alot this year but I didnt, I can replace vehicles but not kids..........so it's been a great year

The Good: Wife and I are working jobs that we love and I started grad school (which work is paying for). Celebrated 3 years together. On our way to financial freedom.

The Bad: Had a miscarriage last week.

Nothing great, nothing horrible, so we'll take that as a good year. Hubby and I had our 10th anniversary, 3rd kid (out of 4) graduated HS and left for college and child #2 joined the National Guard. Our kids and parents (and us) are all in good health, so I'll take that any year.

Good year.

Moved back to the Midwest, got promoted, didn't have to go to the hospital once for myself or loved ones. Gophers beat the Hawkeyes at home, Packers have a chance at the playoffs this weekend, Red Sox signed Gonzalez and Crawford.

The good : Got a good new position at work (less stress, shorter days in port), Got a pretty good evaluation at work, Started dating a great girl in September, Finally stuck to my resolution to make the gym a priority, spent some great time with family when they visited San Diego.

The bad : Spent (a lot) more time at sea than I thought we were going to have to, Didn't make it home for my best friend's wedding, Didn't get home for Christmas.

All-in-all, I'd say it was a good year.
