Finally Conference play is under way. After the tourneys, OOC games suck usually.

Maybe we will have an exciting finish for Gus tonight in the conference opener.

Or maybe not. 69-60 win for the Nittany Lions.

Wow. That's a horrible home loss to open conference play for IU.

Indianas flaws are being exposed big time recently. N. Iowa, Colorado, and PSU. 3 straights loses to teams who appear to be slightly inferior to IU. Not good times in Bloomington right now.

Since 2008:
Indiana football is 3-21 in Big Ten play. Indiana basketball is 5-31 in Big Ten play. I'm not sure another BCS University (who plays in a BCS conference in both sports) is worse in that time-frame than IU...
Losing to Penn State at home?

Boilers 30 Michigan 26 at half. Michigan did well to get themselves back into the game after falling behind big early.

If UM gets hots from 3 point land, they can hang with about anyone.

Unfortunately the only thing Michigan can do is hit the 3. They just don't have any size down low. With no seniors and only a couple juniors they will look real bad at times. They do have the talent to look real good though at times if Morris can create shots for others.

Morgan has been playing well inside the paint.

Looks like Michigan is employing the hack-a-JaJuan strategy. They're getting hammered now.

What was a very good outing for Michigan (even a 5 point loss to Purdue looks respectable to the NCAA tournament committee for a bubble team), turned into a 25 point deficit. Ooooops...

he had a couple buckets in a row, but for the most part hasn't played well, especially on D.

He averages 10/7. That's fine for a perimeter oriented team.

Are you even a Michigan fan that has watched him this season?
He's ok, but he's a very average player at this point. He's only a freshman and I have no doubt he will be solid in a year or two. However, if you take a look at the games Michigan has played decent teams he's never a force down low. He's just not there yet.
Today he had 8pts, 3 boards, 5 turnovers, 0 assists. If you consider that "playing well in the paint" like you stated so be it, but I don't. I'd like to see better.

Purdue was on fire from outside today. At one point, one guard (forget his name) was 5 of 6.

The turnovers are problematic, but anything Morgan adds is just a bonus. And for the record, I am not a Michigan fan and have only seen him play a couple times. Again, for a perimeter oriented team, he is fine. As you say, he might grow into more of a first or second option in a couple years.

Wisconsin beats Minny. Going to be an interesting season in the Big 10. I think home court is going to hold serve pretty consistently (outside of when teams play OSU and possibly Michigan State if they get their act together).
