Always kind of fun to see what cool stuff... and sometimes what not so cool stuff you get at the Bowl Games...

Calendar for the Hawaii bowl
$420 shopping spree for the champs sports bowl and capital one bowl (seems like a provocative amount)

For those not sure, gift suites are generally just a room full of shit (usually sponsored by someone, I see one suite is Sony) and players given an amount they can spend, basically a shopping spree of sorts.

For the NO Bowl, Troy people were coming on the OU board saying they got iPads, but who knows.

Yeah, but I forget what it is.

I found one article that says $500

I believe that $500 is the amount.

Says here that the New Orleans Bowl only got a ring from the Balfour Co.

$500 is correct, and a bowl is cheap if they don't match that amount. Considering the players have to travel during the holiday season on a few weeks notice, chances are any family members who want to see them are spending a multiple of that in their local economy - plus with sponsorships it isn't as if it is $500 retail, they can be provided at cost.

FYI... for University of Toledo players going to the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl:

According to sportsbusinessjournal.com, UT players will be given an electronic gift suite, a watch from Timely Watch Co., a leather duffel bag, and commemorative football. For the gift suites, each player is given an order form and is allowed to choose one or more gifts from a list.

Not a bad package - FIU should get as much as possible. Can't imagine having to spend Christmas in Detroit to play on the 26th - I wonder when the team is arriving. BTW looking at the bowl's website UAW - GM is a major sponsor - thus all of us taxpayers are sponsoring the game!

Apparently you people can't read. Players at the NO Bowl did receive a ring and an iPod touch, not an iPad.

And Darby is correct, $500 is the max they can give. None of the bowls actually pay for this stuff, it is all donated by sponsors, so if the gifts don't add up to $500 per player then they didn't get enough people to donate items.
