donate to the bell ringers? We went to Walmarts today and one was positioned be the exit door. I dropped in some change from my pocket. He said "thank you, sir". I hope the needy have a very merry Christmas.

When I have something to give. Like GoChiefs, I have become a cashless economy.

Only if they give me a receipt, so I can then claim it on my taxes, as a charity donation. :D

Just because its Christmas doesn't mean you should start living yourl life any differently. Do it on a random day in July or August.

I always donate to them, by check, every year. I also give our local place a bunch of canned goods from time to time. They feed alot of people every week.

I felt bad a few weeks ago. I was walking into Kroger with $50 in change to cash in for a Amazon giftcard at the coinstar machine and saw the bell ringer so I kinda hid the change as I walked by him. I put in a dollar on my way out.

I gave a dollar to one the other day, then yesterday I found a dollar on the ground, so win. Also, my work pretty much forces us to donate some amount of money to the United Way each year which funds the Salvation Army.

Gotta love the corporate unforced forced giving to the United Way.

If I pay in cash at a store and I have change as in coins not just breaking a $50 I'm not giving that much. :) However, I usually give more on Black Friday. I pay in cash all day that day and whatever coins I have a give at every store I go to.

I did give them 5 going into Giant Eagle the other day. Thats prolly it for me this Xmas to them. If I could give more, I would.

Except this, I do give them all my change every time I walk out of a store.

Almost always. I mean why not? If it helps people who are less fortunate why not? We try and give all year round to different charities and organizations….Toys for Tots, food/money/clothing to local charities. Especially if it helps little children then I can’t understand not giving some extra change etc. if you have it and it goes to help little ones. We might not be able to give much, granted, but we do give what we can. One of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life was give away my baby things after we lost our baby in late September, but it was the right thing to do if it was a blessing to someone who needed it but was unable to afford it.

Yes I donate, and more frequently this year. Many groups are struggling with fundraising currently and I feel they are a good organization. While growing up we spent many winter days playing basketball at our Salvation Army... and it only cost a dime. Just like to give back to those who helped me growing up.

My job wants 100% of its employees to give to the United Way. Last year we had 3 not give ( I was one). Not because I have anything against the United Way. My wifes job matches anything she gives, so we make our donation through her. My boss said it wouldn't hurt me to donate $1 per pay. I said why would I, if I decided to donate $1 more per pay we would do it through my wife so it would be $2. I guess it is not about how much money can be raised in whole for the UW, but how much your company can.

My place of employment makes you turn in the pledge sheets even if you didn't donate anything, so they can "keep track" of participation. It is pretty much bs b/c if you give nothing then they obviously know.

If I have any change on me I will donate, usually let my son put the change in the kettle. I always donate to save our sight for the Troopers at the BMV when I renew my tags. If Dairy Queen or some store is taking a $1.00 to put your name on a card I will do that too. I hardly ever write my own name though usually make up something.
