Wife just accepted a position in Singapore and I concurrently agreed to a 2 year contract with a Hong Kong based company which will let me work out of S'Pore.

Ohio Chatter will have a presence in SE Asia....it is about as far away from the east coast U.S. as one can get. Clocks are easy to remember - 12 hours ahead. Anyone looking to buy cars (or furniture)?

My wife's best friend's husband took a job there a couple of years ago. They love it. At some point they do expect to return to the states though. I am sure you will enjoy the experience.
Also while you are living there make sure you make some time to tour some of the site in asia. My wife's friend and her husband have been able to tour several asian countries.

'06 Acura TSX (which will be detailed with new tires - 40K miles). '10 Mazda CX-9, maybe 8000 miles?, we bought it with a 5-year no interest piece partially - so if someone wants to assume the loan that is a VERY attractive opportunity. Free money.

My contract starts Feb 15, so we're looking to depart late Feb/early March. My wife is staying in S'pore most of January to work with her company's product launch - leaving me to deal with stuff.

congrats. I'm in the process of my upcoming transfer cycle and one of my options is a 28 day on 28 day off schedule. Sounds good until you learn the 28 days on are in one of the more unstable regions of the Middle East.

Wife is a marketing exec for a pharma, so they do research, review the strategies for sales reps and present to the team. Not an easy job. It will be about 50% travel for her in the first year, including some not so great locations like Jakarta and Kabul.

I agreed to work for a financial services shop that specializes in swaps and derivatives in an American legal support position, in other words the sort of thing that nearly killed the global economy. The pie has shrunk significantly, yet still exists.

Sounds fantastic! You only live once, and that is the kind of thing not everyone gets the opportunity to do, so I commend you on taking it.

What kind of furniture are you unloading? PM me for details on what you're getting rid of and what you want for it.
