So if they have 25 scholarships and offer 32, does it mean they are going to only offer 30 or only accept 23?

Actually when a school self-imposes sanctions the NCAA usually accepts that (although they occasionally add more) and that's the end of it. It's only when the NCAA finds out about something and the university doesn't self-report (i.e Reggie Bush and USC) that the hammer comes down.

They will still get 30 commits and 7 of them will go Juco or greyshirt instead of 5.
Also, I love how recruiting violations are always found for coaches who don't work there anymore and players who have never played...

I was being a cbf type poster by posting a thread about a OSU situation. Kinda like how you do for EVERY SEC situation. You proved my point by bringing this back up 
. And btw, I brought this situation up a LONNNNNGGG time ago about the LSU thing (when it happened). Its not a big deal, same thing OSU has done a million times (self reporting)

Big Deal. OSU is the king of reporting their own violations. Lets them keep violating the rules and still look clean. And yes other schools do it, but doesn't OSU do it more than any other university in the country? I feel like I read an article in the Dispatch about it a year or two ago.

Must be why the late NCAA President Myles Brand said Ohio State was the model program when it came to self-monitoring.

Correct. After the Maurice Clarrett story in ESPN the Magazine (which was all proved to be false, if you remember) OSU said that they would be committed to being the cleanest program in the country and that they would monitor their program better than anyone else. Since then they haven't been investigated by the NCAA but have self-reported any violation they have discovered, big or small, and self-imposed any punishment necessary and the NCAA has been okay with all of it. Everyone knows that everyone is breaking the rules, so if you never report anything then you'd not doing a very good job of oversight. Self-reporting everything will keep the NCAA off your back. LSU's RB Ridley was declared ineligible for the cotton bowl today.

As many have said, all big schools do commit, and report, minor violations. In addition, there's usually a few majors in there once in a while too. Better to self-report than to let it be dug up later. Yes, OSU did report the most of any BCS school between 2000-June 2009 according to the above Dispatch article. Most were minor, and a couple with some teeth sprinkled in there... which means while they may screw up a lot at least they are honest (so both the delusional fanatics and delusional trolls are correct, in a sense).
It is what it is. I'll let you all continue turning it into an SEC/OSU pissing match now

If a school isn't doing a lot of self-reportiing it follows that school must be doing a lot of covering up.

He wasn't suspended for agent contact, he was suspended for selling his jersey. Pure absurdity.
