SOS....Does Plant have a shot against STA? I haven't been impressed with them thus far...but they seem to be on fy-ah during the playoffs.

A very good shot. Ely will try to play, his backup was solid last week. Wilder has been as good as last year. I tried to convince Gator recruiters he can run, but they thought he was a LB. Plant is much improved since Manatee in week 1. They are back to last year's level when they were nationally ranked. 6 teams are nationally in the top 25 now.

2. Aquinas
17. Dr. Phillips
20. Central
21. Armwood
22. Jefferson
24. Cocoa
32. Manatee was #2 last week, lost to Aquinas
46. Dwyer was #17 last week, lost to Armwood
47. Plant

The Raiders had 13 players sign with Division I colleges in February. A couple of months later, they led the nation with three former players selected in the NFL Draft. In the past five years, only two schools -- De LaSalle and Long Beach Poly, both in California -- had as many players selected in the draft as Aquinas.
All three of the former Aquinas players made NFL active rosters as rookies: safety Major Wright, third round by the Bears; defensive tackle Geno Atkins, fourth round by the Bengals; and offensive tackle Sam Young, sixth round by the Cowboys.

I have not seen Aquinas much this year. Plant had a much tougher schedule. Weather is going to be perfect, might rain for Saturday's games though.

after Jefferson jumped ahead 22-0, Norland played them even. Norland got a cheap TD with :03 left. Final 44-34.
Jefferson WR Chris Moore went out in the 1st half, possible fractured collarbone. He will play at UCincy next year.

Hope all is well with Moore. He is someone who has already caught the fancy of the Bearcat faithful.

Aquinas has some men on their team. QB Jake Rudock is an Iowa commit. Plant's QB Phillip Ely is a Bama commit. Ely had a terrible game. Wilder took some licks in the first half, was in pain and slow the rest of the game.
I just happened to sit behind the Jefferson coach and a bunch of the team. They stayed for Plant's game. I got to congratulate Quentin Williams and got a picture of him. Poor kid still had his game pants on. Can't wait for Williams at Bethune-Cookman next year. He was extremely polite. I know how tired and sore those kids were. Champions in more ways than one.
Moore will be fine, he showed no pain, just had a bag of ice taped over his shirt for the second half. Good find for Cincinnatti.

Lincoln kicks a FG with :04 remaining, 17-14 BIG upset over Armwood. Lincoln began the year 3-4, playing sophs because of injuries. They healed up and have depth now and a couple of sophs stepped up today. Armwood's Oline coach is former Gator All-American Mike Pearson. Lincoln's OC is former Gator All-American Jaquez Green.

7:00 p.m.
6A: Orlando Dr. Phillips vs. Miami Central
FoxSports Florida

2 Live Crew's Luther Campbell aka Uncle Luke, is an asst. coach at Miami Central.

Central has 8 or 10 bigtime recruits, so does Dr. P, led by All-Americans Dee Hart and Ha'sean Clinton-Dix.
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/os-hs-dee-hart-clinton-dix-20101217,0,3427502.story
While Hart has spent his entire career at DP, Clinton-Dix transferred from Edgewater after his sophomore year. Having played in different youth football leagues growing up, they met for the first time the summer before their junior year while working out together with renowned trainer Tom Shaw.

There are 2 speedy defensive teams in this game.

42-27 final Miami Central , after starting 17-0 Dr P.
FSU bound Devonta Freeman had 300 yds to go with last week's 350 rushing. Jimbo's Noles are gonna be bad ass next year.

Have to say overall after watching the Florida playoff they should stay in Florida. They pass too much, most are skinny kids and they don't play with the toughness Ohio football has to offer.

Brewster & 3 other Buckeye starters would not agree with you. It is a different overall style of game than Ohio, but kids go all over the country with scholarships.

Agreed. I'm not sure anyone in Ohio would want any part of STAQ this year.
