smh @ Pryor. Get rid of him! The Herbstreit comments at the press conference paired with this car loaner fiasco just continues to make me not like him. Apparently the dealership where he was getting the loaners had a few Buckeye jerseys hanging on the wall (one of them signed by TP)

Jordo's girlfriend must have got in one of the lines at a party. I worked at a sports bar in Columbus we had buckeye players come in about every other day and our manager would always ask them to sign stuff for the walls and entrance but he also always charged them for their meals. Just because a place has a signed jersey doesnt mean anything. While i worked there we got Oden Conley Beanie Wells and a few others jerseys signed. Wells used to come in with his sister and would always only tip 1$ on like 30 but like two days after he got drafted he came in and again ate with his sister and tipped the waitress 100$. The people who probably acted the worst were columbus crew players who came in and had a lil to much to drink and actually tackled a giant brutus and put a hole in it. He then sent his wife in the next day and she sewed it back up. We had a couple bluejacket players leave without paying as well.

Yeah I am not concerned about the car loaner situation. I had a Nissan Altima I used to DD and I talked the salesman at the Dealership to let me take a brand new 350Z as my loaner car for 2 days as the radiator was getting fixed. I hadn't even bought my car there and it was a warranty repair. Some salesman at dealerships really don't give a shit when it comes to what cars they loan out

Forget the loaner BS...how about the 3 speeding violations that revealed the loaner situation in the first place!?!?

3 speeding violations (that we know about) in less than 2 years???? Why does this fucktard still have a license? God I want this POS removed from the OSU campus asap. This punk is a huge liability to allow to keep hanging around. Tress & Smith must believe they can somehow corral him for one more year, but I predict he has at least one more bomb to drop on the program before we are done with him.

He still has a license because 3 speeding tickets, provided he plead guilty to them and didn't take the class is a maximum of 6 points on his license.

The speeding tickets are harmless, but the more that people look into the loaner cars the worse the situation gets.
The Common Man and the Torg were talking about this today and had some decent insight. The way they were talking, they seemed to know something about this car salesman/dealership that let Pryor "borrow" them. Apparently in the one situation, the dealer said it's their standard policy when they work on someone's car, in which Pryor was getting his engine replaced. Well, said dealership doesn't even have a shop to do the work, so something strange was going on.

With that said, I thought it was okay (somehow) for players to borrow these cars as long as title doesn't transfer. Didn't Clarett get busted in a "rental"?

And I have seen Herron and Posey driving Dodge Charger's as well.

Going back to the Herbie comments, I think the issue is not that Herbie should not be second guessed by anyone because he is a former OSU player. The bigger issue is that there is usually a little respect given to the guys who came before you. You may think the guy is the biggest A-hole on the planet, but you never make a comment about them out in the public.

The bigger issue is that Pryor would say anything to make himself even dumber.

You don't, it follows the same reasoning most were upset as to what was sold (gold pants). Most universities have some tradition that when shit upon by a current player in some way would be frowned upon. Same goes for shitting on alumni...if you don't have anything nice to say then say nothing. Herbie, though has said nothing directly against Ohio State per se', has come pretty close to deserving what he gets. The last time Herbie has looked like a former Buckeye, was on the sidelines in the 2002/03 Championship game when he was caught by cameras celebrating a TD. I know his job requires being level headed but a simple "of course I want OSU to win..." would go a long way to keeping himself in the good graces of the majority of the Buckeye faithful.

Nah he didn't bone my girlfriend. I didn't live anywhere close to Ohio State. Just kind of fishy that this car dealership that has been loaning him really nice cars while his car is getting worked on just happens to have some jerseys hanging on the wall signed by TP. Just too coincidental

Couldn't disagree more. Herbie does his job for ESPN and does it well. The way that it's supposed to be done. We know where his heart is and he shouldn't have to break away from his professional impartiality during broadcasts to prove anything to Buckeye Nation nor should he feel the need to appease them. He's never done anything to shame the university or the program that I know of and as you mentioned....look no further than that picture from the 2003 BCS title game when he looks like he's growing out of Eddie George's back to know where his loyalties lie.

I agree, don't misunderstand. Him celebrating the way he did IS all I require to know where his loyalties are, it's why I brought it up in the first place. However, staying in the good graces of the majority of the Buckeye faithful sometimes, unfortunately, requires a little more, if you get my drift.

He really cannot do that. People on this board should realize that. Nobody likes a non-objective sports analyst (Trev Alberts, Mark May cough cough). Herbie is basically ESPN's lead commentator now. He can't be out there leading the Buckeye bandwagon. smh

I can see it now....

Brent: Herbie, we're here at the Big House. What a day for college football.
Herbie: I don't give a damn about the whole state of Michigan. Did you happen to catch the OSU/YSU game? OSU will win the national title, hands down. (Herbie yells across the room to himself--- OH--- and then back ---IO).

The SEC is pathetic and they're athletes are stupid, unlike in the Big Ten where we have academic standards. OSU will win the national title, hands down. Brent: Tonight folks, the Back Yard Brawl will come right at you, at 8pm on ESPN.
Herbie: The Big Least? Puh-leaze....

What I really don't understand about the whole car thing is Pryor's reasoning that he drove the one car home to PA to ask his family and friends there whether he should buy it. I thought the reason he sold the gold pants and rings was to help his family out with money? How is he in the position to buy a car when he is selling things to help his family? The same dealership that Tressel used to supposedly get MoC a car is the one that Pryor has been dealing with. A lot of stuff doesn't add up to this not being a big deal.

Ok places like restaurants and bars etc I can understand because the players would be going there on a regular basis. Why would all of those players be going to the same car dealership, especially when they are saying they need to help their families and don't have any money?

It's a perfect "laundering" situation. What's the NCAA going to do? Regulate fair market value for loaner cars?

Doesn't make it right or excusable, just explainable, and I seriously doubt unique to Ohio State.

Car Dealerships, stores, barbershops, etc. All kinds of places have tons of signed OSU memorabilia all over the city.

And the place he had the Denali from was Jack Maxton, I did a 4 day test drive there once when I was 22. Like I said earlier, some salesmen just don't give a shit.
