Jock, maybe. I was that stereotypical football captain who dated the homecoming queen, I guess. I had a varsity letter for each season I played, so I had more than the rest of the guys. Was 1st-team all conference in all three sports. I wouldn't say I was the in-your-face jock because I was the OG/DE/RB in football, 285-lb. wrestler, and school-record holder in the shot put. I wasn't getting all of the girls like the quarterback and basketball stars were; I was pretty low-key about it.
I was the brain though. I graduated with a 3.3 and 34/68 in my class, but everyone know I was one of the smart kids. It was pretty funny when I won the most outstanding scholar award for history and architectural drawing and the teachers would say "well he didn't have the highest GPA in the world, but honestly we couldn't give it to anyone else." hahaha the disdain from the 4.0 crowd was palpable. Poor fuckers wanted to load up their college resumes. I was the leading scorer on the quiz bowl team, with 135 points. The second place scorer had 42 and was recruited by Yale but decided on Ohio State's honors engineering.
I was the class clown in grade school, but not high school. I had matured and my humor was generally smarter than what my classmates could handle, but I was definitely the wittiest. Cheap "oh my god Kevin ate a worm" humor doesn't get me off, unlike every other 17-year old.
I was definitely the nerd. I spent my spare time drawing maps and architectural drawings. I garnered an offer to shadow at Eddie George's EDGE group here in Columbus, so it paid off. Over my junior and senior years I designed an athletic expansion for the school that is now in the process of possibly being constructed, so I'm pretty excited to say I designed it while a student there.
On one day senior year I won my Eagle Scout, Outstanding Student-Athlete Award, and my histroy and architectural awards. Boy did I get laid that night!
